If Chalmers can't go tomorrow night, I'd like to see Spo get creative with lineups that feature Wade at the point as I expect Arroyo to be burned to a crisp by Westbrook.

Wade-Cook-Q, Wade-Q-Wright, and Wade-Cook-Wright should all be used at some point. I want to see how they match up defensively as well as the spacing their shooting could afford Wade offensively.

Spoelstra is not the devil and he doesn't do everything wrong and he's not a saint who is the sole reason for our success. Both ends of this spectrum are way too extreme. Spoelstra is a great defensive coach and he's very good at preparing for a team, some people just have an issue with his stubborn in game rotations.

The record is not some sort of excuse to imply that everything is going fine. A 9 game sample of a season is nothing in the long run, certain problems that didn't lead to losses during this stretch could in the future.

So yeah, let's find a medium in this discussion.

I have not seen anyone say that Spo is perfect.

The problem here is that, if anyone refutes the crowd that is itching to see Spo fired - for their own perfect reasons (aka Beasley's production most of the time) - they immediately get labeled as Spo fanboys and that they are saying Spo is perfect. Who here has said that Spo is the only reason why we are at 7-2 ? But is it sooo out of this world to imagine he has a part to play in it?

And it is painful seeing the same spiel over and over again in every game thread.

As Marty said, I guess I should start posting "Wade is such a poor 3pt shooter" everytime he misses one .. or how "Beasley just does not get it" for every mental error he makes - and repeat the same thing 10 times after the game is over irrespective of the result. I guess that will do wonders to our game threads. 8-)

First of all, there is also those that defend Spoelstra no matter what decision he makes as well. It isn't just the anti-Spo crowd that takes it to the extreme.

Secondly, I think people have an easier time questioning Spoelstra because he is making errors that appear easily correctable to the average fan, such as substitution patterns. When Wade misses a 3 or Beasley fails to box out his man, we are less subject to question them because we can't relate as well, none of us have professional basketball experience. However, when we disagree with a decision Spoelstra makes, we don't mind calling him out because to the average fan, years of watching a sport makes them qualified to coach said sport in their mind. It may not be correct, but its a difficult habit to break.

I have never seen a post say Spo is irreplaceable, but I've seen a tonne that think he should be fired. That's the difference.

Most coaches with the leagues best defense and second best record in the league (if Portland wins -currently in OT) don't have their heads on the chopping block. I think everyone knows he goes with some bad lineups at times, that will be less of an issue when we get a decent bench. Right now our C, SF and PG reserves leave a lot to be desired. When Spo has some players to play with, we won't have much to complain about.

Well, the Beasley fan boys will. But Spo will never satsfy that lot.

Thats the thing, Spo does things that we all know are stupid and easily corrected and yet he keeps doing them. Am I supposed to just say, well we won a game, so lets turn the blind eye? No!In the playoffs and versus good teams, those things catch up with a team. Is he doing a decent Job, yeah I would say its the case. But when you have a lineup like Joel-Haslem-Beasley(in the corner)-Wright-Arryo go over 4 minutes without scoring and then the next game you start the 4th with that lineup, some one has to question it.

Woah woah woah, who the hell said they want Spo fired? That is just a ridiculous extreme and I have personally never seen that said on this board. Link me to a post saying that i'll stand corrected but that's just ridiculous and I've never come across it.
