I actually like the guy better than both of them...I think the trick is to put him on a team where you wont have him play against a guy like LeBron or Wade...he actually didn't do bad against San Antonio and was a nice anchor for years with Boston. I'd love to beat Boston with their own players that would make it even sweeter than the last two years. Plus Perkins should be now fully healed from the freak injury in the 2010 finals.

They could have had Bill Russell as their Center and we would have destroyed them. We were just that much better.

Perkins doesn't rebound, he has no offensive game, and he's a caveman on defense. What's there to like?

He was playing along side the defensive player of the year. He wasn't an anchor for the Boston defense.

I hope you're just exaggerating.

Yes because a 6'9 Center would have made a difference. Playing Bill Russell at Center in today's NBA is like playing Haslem at Center.

This post tells me you have no idea what you're talking about.

You're assuming the nba was smaller in russell's era. You're wrong and if Bill can go up against Wilt Chamberlain, one of the most gifted and tallest athletes of all time, you think he'll what, have trouble guarding a guy like howard? Ben Wallace is only 6' 9" and he was one of the best defensive players and anchors of the last 10-12 years. But I guess according to you, he's small and has no business being on the court in this current era of basketball.

What would you think is an acceptable height for a center? 7 ft.? How much of a difference do you think 3 inches makes in overall defense? You need to get out of the bigger = better and height = defense mindsets. At the very least, take size and wingspan into account too

he probably meant since Allen is coming to town tomorrow, they will try to get him so if he does sign with Miami it will be a successful off season.

For everyone that doubted Pat Riley...SMH

Ray Allen gives us a sure repeat (unless someone gets hurt) D-Wade and LeBron knows what the deal is. Its going to come out tomorrow that he is joining the Heat. Now the question is, is he joining as part of a sign and trade? or is he just signing for the 3 million? Finally he joins a class act organization!

I think if we stay healthy and everything goes right...we sign Camby...I don't see why we can't finish with 70 wins this year...who can beat us???

lol@draft picks
LA always gets something for nothing
kobe should have 10 rings with the talent he's always been surrounded with

not worried tho, especially if we get Ray
they have to deal with OKC and LAC

We can beat ourselves because we tend to get bored in the regular season.

That's the only thing that I think might keep us from approaching the Bulls record, we shall see though. I'm not shocked since I've been saying this is a done deal for weeks...I'm shocked that people wavered on Pat Riley though and didn't believe that Ray Allen would fall in line with what we are working with here. Riles showed him his bag of rings, and now hes playing for the next dynasty in sports!

I dont give a damn if we win 35 games and get the #8 seed in the playoffs. Shaq started it, and now all younger vet superstars are doing it. Coast the regular season, go balls out in the playoffs. Wade-Lebron-Bosh-Ray Ray don't give a damn about regular season wins. its all about the playoffs

It doesn't even really hurt them defensively because Nash is a pg, and they were already weak at that position (it's not like we have a defensive pg either and we are World Champions...). Plus they could easily pick up a defensive minded sg with their mini mle. I respect this move.

Well, I don't agree with that. Chalmers is a good defender

Definetly a better defender than Nash and Lin

Chalmers is not a good defender. He is able to get into passing lanes and get steals because off of the
strength of our defensive system. He's a mediocre one on one defender at best. He's not much of a defensive improvement of either Nash or Lin. My point being that, in the right defensive system, Nash or Lin could be made useful despite their defensive deficiencies.

Chalmers is a good defender and his individual defense does not determine that.

Help/team defense >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> individual defense

Individual defense means nothing if there is no help defense
