Tim_Hardawayy wrote:Just wanna point out on the general board, there's a thread asking to rank Atl, Bos, Cha and our coach, and most Heat fans had Spo fourth. Meanwhile, on the Hornets board right now, most of their fans think Spo is coaching circles around Clifford.

I'm not saying they're necessarily right, but at this point you guys gotta admit fans always freak out and blame the coach when they lose, and credit the players when they win.

Not naming names but there are a few particular Heat fans who are always crapping on Spo on the GB and it's baffling to me to say the least. In the thread you are talking about I had Spo 2nd IIRC.

I keep on telling people Spo is easily an above average coach and some here just don't know what it's like to be stuck with crap coaches. Hell, you would think that after seeing what Spo did for LeBron's offensive game from 2012-2014 it would be evident to people how good he is. Not to even mention the development of all the guys like Whiteside, TJ, Richardson, and Winslow over the last two years.

This is considered baiting. This is your only warning.

Its kinda weird peeping Charlotte's game thread and seeing people with Houston, Lakers and GSW team avi's, then I remembered they have Lin... crazy how such a mediocre player can have such a loyal following.

Good win, I'm glad Spoelstra is on it about not solely relying on our offense, particularly on the road.

Sounds like Clifford is banking on the law of averages to catch up to us.....which surely isn't out of the question. We got bogged down a bit in the second half, but 43 in a quarter? After putting up 41 in the first quarter in Game 1? Thing is though, we've been a top 8 offensive and defensive squad since the ASB. I think we can do some of the same things, just not bank on it anywhere near as much. CHA is gonna make more 3s at home on top of the gift-wrapped FTs they're already getting. Just hope the refs allow us to defend.

Just some PO team stats.

FG % - 57,8% n°1 ( second LAC 49,7 % )
3PM % - 52,9% n°1 ( N°5 in makes, N°14 in attempts )
Rebounds - 38,5 per game ( N°12 - understandable because both teams are making high % of their attempts.)
Assists - 23 per game n°3
TO - 8,5 N°1 ( as in least TO )
Fouls - 24,5 per game N°3 ( Charlotte 16,5 only ahead of Spurs)
PPG - 119 N°1 ( differential +22 N°2 behind +29 Spurs)

If Miami can continue to make jumpshots this effectively, this series is a wrap in 5 - especially without Batum. The problem is, there isn't definitive proof that they can sustain a shooting stretch as awesome as this one.

I think the personel match up favors us and gives us the opportunity to have these great looks. They have to focus too much on whiteside and d wade in the paint, and its really opening up jumpers for everyone else. The pace favors Goran, who hasn't even had his best game yet.

I don't think the start Jefferson and feed him for post buckets and draw hw into foul trouble strategy is going to be that effective.Yesterday, he ate hassan's lunch on the offensive end, and it slowed the game down for his team which stunted their offensive impact. Those guys do well in an uptempo game, and looked kinda out of sorts when they did get the ball at times after having to wait through some of those Jefferson post ups. Also, he can't guard Whiteside lol, so I think those two will cancel each other out, and putting winslow or deng at the 5 totally effs that up for charlotte. Cliffords gonna have to find another chess move cause I don't think that's it.

Spo deserves a lot of credit. Sliding winslow at the five in the middle of the game and taking out hassan with three minutes left last night during a hornets run were great decisions. He's been making awesome adjustments that underscore how prepared he is for the playoffs. That's a great sign.

My favorite part of the game and the overall most uplifting thing we shoud take away from it imo is how effective the rooks are as one on one defenders in the playoffs. Jesus man how many times did Winslow put the brakes on lin or lee in a heated one on one possession? Same with j-rich on kemba, he had him locked up multiple times on possesions where kemba wanted to make a momentum shifting attempt. Those two look great.

This series might get more competitive if charlotte starts hitting threes. I'm scared of what marvin Williams can open up for them if he gets going. Regardless, the tempo these teams are playing at guarantees plenty of entertainment.
