It would still be an expiring contract to be used in the summer of 2021. Miami needs to get their picks back in the event that they want to trade for one of those soon to be FA's in 2021. Most teams aren't just going to let guys walk anymore.

There's also the possibility of getting Paul and the picks and then working a Wall/Beal deal with those assets.

Why didnt they just do the deal with us in the first place if they wanted Dragic's expiring only to have to give us picks back anyway?

If Miami gets CP3 and picks, they're not going to have the contracts to get another big contract player till Leonard is available to be traded.

Mia would likely have to add the picks that they would be potentially getting back from OKC in a deal for Beal but yea, it's conceivably doable.

I don't understand your point? The HOU deal essentially got them 4 picks new picks with the pick swaps on top of the two HOU first rounders that are top 4 protected.

OKC can now get out of Paul's deal if they send him to Miami for say Dragic/Leonard while giving Miami back their picks. Those picks can then be reused by Miami to package something for Beal.

If you can acquire Paul and the picks...and then flip the picks with maybe Winslow for Beal...

Then flip CP3 + picks for Beal. We could do the whole 3 1st round + 2 swaps deal

Would make no sense for OKC to give the picks to Miami. Might as well just traded Russ to Miami.

Big Opeth fan. I have about 8 of their albums and I stream the others. They're one of my all time favorites.
