One thing I love about Wiggins is his durability. Prior to this year, he played at least 70 games in 8 out of 10 seasons. The other two years were the COVID year where the Warriors only played 65 games and the 22-23 season where he missed a lot of time due to personal issues.

We saved his ass. He hadnt done anything. He came here ready to prove something and we were Finals contenders.
The Heat have the right mindset.
Jimmy wanted to merc it up and get paid so he can afford child support.
Fun to think that we traded Jrich for Butler and we traded JRich with Butler.
Our ROI on Butler is peak. We got a nice deal for tanked value.

I'm getting kind of sick of it just being accepted that star players can show up for 60-70% of a season and its OK, like Kawhi, Embiid, Harden, Jimmy etc. Its becoming the norm, it used to be only Shaq got away with that BS, and that was because when he turned it on in the postseason he was arguably the most dominant player of all time (and he STILL got criticized for doing it). Sorry for the old man yelling at clouds rant.

Wiggins is a quality 2-way player and he’ll fit in just fine but I don’t see him appreciably better than what Caleb Martin was for the team.
Mitchell plays great D and not so great O.
Might be sparingly useful but when he’s bricking 3s on a regular basis, I suspect he’ll fall out of favor.
Been, Wiggins was a #2 on a championship team. Caleb doesn't even sniff his jock strap. I think time will bear out just how much of a value add Wiggins will provide to our roster.

Yeah considering everything we got a fair deal. At one point it seemed like he tanked the chit of his value.

Wiggins 22 in the rafters on my bucket list.
Anyone remember him being a #1 pick, or close to it anyways? He was the guy who got Kevin Love to Cleveland unless my memory is off. Interesting to see him settle into being kind of a role player and still have a nice career, usually with #1 picks its star or bust.
Everyone is so eager for the next Jordan. I can dig it. MJ was a bad dude.
Wiggins is too nice though. To be a real legend, you have to be a little off.
And yes, he was traded for Love. That was an interesting draft.

My thoughts are We don’t owe him anything. We bent over backwards to conform to his ways and it still wasn’t good enough for him. Set us back several pegs signing Lowry. Brought the circus into town going full spectacle mode for the world to see on a tight lipped private organization exposing the Heat to unsavory conditions. For sure Going to be a lot of scarred tissue between Jimmy and the Heat organization/fans for years to come

Yep.
We traded JRich and a 1st for Butler.
We traded Butler for Wiggins (an allstar and NBA champ 5 years younger.....), Davion and a 1st.
Thats an amazing return on investment. Nothing but a win for Miami.

You’re correct, he’s had a pretty damn good career still. 2nd best player on a championship, had Tatum in hell that series. Has some high scoring seasons at 24, 22, 22, and 21, won rookie of the year, was an all star starter (this was a massive fluke lol)

How dare you talk about former ECF MVP Caleb Martin like that

We ALL hated the Lowry signing. No way you trade a prospect for him. No way you pay him $30 mil a year for 3 years. That was Jimmys boy. We had to get him. Thanks Buttler.
I remember signing Lebrons boy, Sebastard Napier. Stop signing divas boyfriends ffs!

I do feel better with the Mitchell part. Tucker confused me because I thought we were over the 6-6 pf/c nonsense. I hope he isn’t an option if/when he gets bought out by Toronto mostly because I want other guys to get those minutes. Nothing against him.
Slow mo is whatever and Wiggins will be nice for this team.

Im actually a fan of a shorter season. 50 or 60 games. If we are playing 82 and dudes are missing 30% of the games, it affects chemistry.

The main reason he catches a bad rap is because he was the #1 pick and had (still has) all the talent in the world. He doesn't quite have that psychotic drive/motor to fully maximize his talents but that doesn't mean he's soft, mentally weak, or other such terms I've seen thrown around. Dude was totally unfazed by the NBA Finals spotlight and rose to the occasion on both ends of the floor.
There will be nights where he's going to be the best player on the court and look like a superstar, which is also going to drive people crazy when they wonder why he can't be that guy every night. Just make sure you have the right expectations - as long as you realize there will be more good than bad, and that overall he will be a net positive, then you'll enjoy the Two-Way Wiggs experience. If you expect Maple Jordan every game, you're going to be super frustrated lol.

Napier looked nice from the college highlights ngl lol
I think we all thought we had a gem with his pick up
What was the issue again with him? Was it his size and average athleticism? I remember he wasn't the best 3 point shooter either.
