I like the Wiggins pickup, I’ll like it a lot more when we get that number 1 star and we have elite 2 way guys in Bam/wiggins playing off them and Herro getting open looks off ball and scoring efficiently.
Like the pick, like the Mitchell pickup a lot.
Dont like we got forced into keeping Anderson, don’t like that we waited for it to get this point to trade Jimmy. If we were never going to pay him (we clearly weren’t) we could’ve got a haul for him last summer from the Sixers or Knicks who tried to get him before bridges

Bam is too locked in to his newest butt buddy to do much recruiting, and I'm not sure we're desperate enough to sign a WNBA player... yet...

That year we lost to the C's in game 7 we had an awesome roster.
Lowry wasn't a bad pick up just greedy. 20 mil a year would of been fair.

For sure Going to be a lot of scarred tissue between Jimmy and the Heat organization/fans for years to come
We ALL hated the Lowry signing. No way you trade a prospect for him. No way you pay him $30 mil a year for 3 years. That was Jimmys boy. We had to get him. Thanks Buttler.
I remember signing Lebrons boy, Sebastard Napier. Stop signing divas boyfriends ffs!
Napier looked nice from the college highlights ngl lol
I think we all thought we had a gem with his pick up
What was the issue again with him? Was it his size and average athleticism? I remember he wasn't the best 3 point shooter either.
I was not a fan. Undersized shooting guard who couldnt shoot being listed as a point. Like nails on the chalkboard Enso.

Re: 2025 Regular Season Thread Vol. 7 - It’s about to go down
I'm pretty happy.
Mitchell is someone you can work with and he's strong. His shot isn't that horrible mechanically.
Wiggins I can definitely be excited I think he's gonna walk right in and get 22-24 pts a game easily in this new offense.
Pick is gravy. We have some freedom of choice on that one so I'll be joining Greg in Draft Room.

I think the trade can be graded a couple ways.
What should Miami have done prior to the drama? Shouldve traded his ass 2 years in a row. F Miami. F!! You stupid chits!!!
What did Miami do when their backs were pressed against the wall in a terrible position? B plus. Good work team!

The Heat have the right mindset.
Jimmy wanted to merc it up and get paid so he can afford child support.
Fun to think that we traded Jrich for Butler and we traded JRich with Butler.
Our ROI on Butler is peak. We got a nice deal for tanked value.
Yeah considering everything we got a fair deal. At one point it seemed like he tanked the chit of his value.
Yep.
We traded JRich and a 1st for Butler.
We traded Butler for Wiggins (an allstar and NBA champ 5 years younger.....), Davion and a 1st.
Thats an amazing return on investment. Nothing but a win for Miami.
What's funny is that 1st Heat traded for Jimmy eventually came back and became Jaime and it got traded with SGA to OKC in between

Was funny watching many Warriors fans/analysts basically say FML for trading Wiggins for $60 mil/yr boy. They were not happy.
I get it. Trading a 29 year old who plays twice as many games and puts up similar numbers to a retired NBA player making $60 mil a year for the next 2.5 years......FML. Light years behind.

Wiggins is a quality 2-way player and he’ll fit in just fine but I don’t see him appreciably better than what Caleb Martin was for the team.
Mitchell plays great D and not so great O.
Might be sparingly useful but when he’s bricking 3s on a regular basis, I suspect he’ll fall out of favor.
Been, Wiggins was a #2 on a championship team. Caleb doesn't even sniff his jock strap. I think time will bear out just how much of a value add Wiggins will provide to our roster.
How dare you talk about former ECF MVP Caleb Martin like that
Never averaged more than 10 ppg Caleb Martin*

Call me crazy but as long as the league continues to trend towards spamming 3's, as much as I hate that style, I think Tyler can continue to rise and potentially be a top 10 guy, which is about the minimum you need for a star to lead you to a championship unless its a fluke year like the 04 Pistons. I think in any other era, as nice as Herro's development has been, he peaks as a top 25-30 guy who is occasionally an all-star and can either be a nice #2 or a great 6th man. But in this era where the 3-point shot is everything, as a guy who can hit them at volume, at a high percentage, either spotting up or off the dribble in just about any situation... he's basically looking like Steph Curry, minus some passing I guess.

Jimmy killed his value. Killed it.
Wiggins and Davion fit what we do.
And we got a potential lotto pick, this coming draft.
Pretty happy.
Getting another pick was the highlight of the day but I have no idea what their vision is.
Care to try and make sense of it?
They grabbed 2 incredible defenders. Might be our 2nd and 3rd best defenders right now.
We are super thin at point, so Davion makes sense. Hes Drus replacement. Hope he gets comfy with the offensive space he will be given and can shoot a good percentage.
Wiggins is a two way starter who many wouldnt have traded str8 up for Jimmy. He was spoken of this year as GSWs most consistent player. He replaces Butler and should be available to play RS games.
Id liked it a bit better if that pick had more lenient protection.
Other than that, Im happy.
To clarify, I’m asking about the overall vision for the future.
Supposedly, plan A was to create max space for 2026 and pray that an elite player would actually become an UFA and choose Mia.
With Luka and Fox basically off the board, and with Wiggins eating into their space, that no longer appears to be the vision.
Meanwhile, they still have a two timeline split in their roster make-up with Bam, Wiggins n Herro on one end and all the kids on the other.
Adding a pick this year, (should they keep it) plays into their young timeline.
I’m fine with that so long as they commit to that as their vision and start trading off their vets in the offseason.
If they intend to compete, then they should be open to trading their young players to add a vet star.
As of now, there’s doesn’t appear to a clear direction.

I like the trade for them this season, IF they make the playoffs, and that's a big if. But what's to stop him from demanding another extension next year, since they'll just be in the same situation we were in this season? And he'll be another year older.
Just seems like at some point Jimmy is either going to have to let off the ego, or he's going to eventually Sprewell himself.

I gotta disagree there, I don’t think we’re winning anything with him as the 1st or 2nd best player on a team. He can be the 2nd best scorer sure but we need a true lead guy that can make winning plays on both ends and get his own offense at will when needed
