Ira was just on with Joe Rose

http://www.wqam.com/index.php?page=347

says UD might have to consider going to the Mavs, we wouldn't be able to come close to the guaranteed $ than Cuban is offering. Might be too big of a risk for him to gamble with re-signing here and getting a wink wink.

Says there will be at least 10-12 "non minimum quality" veterans on this team, players are clamoring to come here.

Mike Miller deal should be done today or tomorrow.

Derek Fisher is feeling unloved by LA, but Ira can't see him coming here all things being equal (and right now LA might even be offering more), but Fisher might be upset that Buss wants to cut his salary by 50% from last year AND sign Steve Blake for more money.

Ira could see J-Will coming back, although he can't play D, he is one of the best in-transition PGs the Heat has ever had, and it might be more important to someone who can throw the alley oops and lobs to the big 3 than anything else in our PG.

Ricky Davis was nothing but CLASS during his time here when we were losing games. I would welcome him back. I don't see what you guys are making a big deal about him. Because if you look at his play and demeanor the past 3 years, it's been positive.

Agree with you 100%. The main hangup people have over Davis is, he reminds them of that abysmal season. No one ever wants to be reminded of those dark times, and Davis does just that.

It's kinda disrespectful that most of you hate him so much if you remember he was on on the heat when we flat out sucked he never quit and was one of our bet players

Yeah, I believe he played nearly ever game? Guy was a class act. I don't care to have him back, but I don't understand the hate.

Are we discussing Ricky Davis already?
I rather have Jerry Stackhouse over Davis. Even then, Q and Radja Bell would be a higher priority than those two. What we need is some experience, IQ and leadership in the locker room. Players who have the pedigree to go up to the "Kings" and tell them off if needed. We do not need the "Kings" the added burden of babysitting on the court players such as RIcky Davis. This why Beasley is not on the team. This is why we are going after Derek Fisher and his 5 rings. This is why it is important to bring UD back.

i think the hate stems from his off the court issues he's a known pothead and you know this new heat organization isn't having any potential distraction... just not happening. besides that ricky doesn't have the best IQ and is a chucker won't be a solid chemistry guy. of course it was nice to have him when we were the worst team in basketball and didn't have any choice but to go to him but this ain't the same team lol. also either last season or the one before i read at one point he had the lowest PER at his position in the whole league.. not good.

Derek Fisher saying no to Heat
Yahoo! Sports Marc J. Spears has it from his sources that Fisher is going to rejoin the Los Angeles Lakers, where he's spent all but three of his 13 seasons in the league.

It would have been nice to have Fisher but Chalmers is nice too :)

This could be HUGE for us:

LINK

LAS VEGAS – The Mavericks are close to signing former San Antonio Spurs center Ian Mahinmi, NBA sources said Sunday.

Mahinmi (6-11) played 26 games for the Spurs last season and is an unrestricted free agent. He averaged 3.9 points and 2.0 rebounds in six minutes per game last season. Several NBA sources said the 25-year-old Frenchman is ready to make a significant improvement moving forward.

The Mavericks signed center Brendan Haywood to a six-year deal last week, but Erick Dampier is on a non-guaranteed contract. Dampier is likely to be either traded or waived before the Mavericks would have to pay the $13 million for the final year of his deal.

If the Mavericks secure Mahinmi, who would at the very most require the bi-annual exception of about $1.9 million, it could be a sign that Dampier no longer is in the team's plans.

Mahinmi was the 28th overall pick in the 2005 draft but did not get to the Spurs organization until 2007.

He played 46 games in the NBA Development League in 2007-08 and averaged 17 points and eight rebounds. He missed virtually all of the 2008-09 season with a right ankle injury.

If they cut Dampier, I think we should go and sign Erika to a minimum contract.

Raja Bell easily over Ricky Davis. Unfortunately for Davis, he's established a reputation, and it's hard to change that perception.

It is not so much his reputation. My main issue with him has always been his lack of BB IQ. The kid has LOADS of talent but no BB brains.

Jerry Stackhouse said he would join the Miami Heat for the minimum.

Agreed. But, some of you guys are acting like Ricky Davis is the 2nd coming of Terrell Owens.

If Haslem ends up leaving for Dallas, I would like to see us split the money we were going to give to him between Foye and Dampier, Brad Miller, or Kwame Brown. I think Foye would be great playing next to the Big 3 since he is not a traditional play making PG, but does have the ability to knock down shots. Of Damp/Miller/Brown, not sure who would be the most likely to accept a $2 million deal, but any of the 3 would provide the necessary muscle up front to bang with some of the more physical teams.

Edit: Looks like Foye is signing with the Clippers. He would have been a nice fit here.
