Re: Hassan Whiteside: Road To The Max
You couldn't pay me to believe he is going to stay here. This team, specifically the coach, are treating him as a Beasley. Constantly talking negative about him, how he doesn't cheer, how he pouts, how this or that ridiculous stat shows we are better without him, how he needs to learn to enjoy others success, how he needs to stop worrying about his stats, how he needs to embrace a bench role, how he needs to be ok being benched in the 4th qt or late in games etc etc the list goes on an on.
IMO the damage has been done. Hassan is human like everyone else. What would a normal human do in a position like this? A position which, NO MATTER WHAT he is getting paid. Be it heat, or any other team in the league that wants him. The Ball is on HIS court. SO whats gonna happen? He will continue to answer questions like he did yesterday. "me and coach have talked enough, nothing else to say". He is holding grudges. And come the offseason he is gonna give us all a big F U. Now we will have lost the best shot blocking/ rim protector in the league.
And for what? To win (lose is a better term) some meaningless games in a season that the title was handed out 1 week into the season. A season, that no matter HOW we play, how many meaningless regular season games we win, or how many we lose, the outcome to the year was never in question or never in DOUBT. We are a playoff team. We are no where near a title threat. We are a 1st or 2nd round exit. This is not OPINION, this is FACT like it or not.
THIS season should have always been about a few important things, and never about trying to win a title. This season should of been tailored to please Hassan. He should NEVER have been BENCHED a SINGLE time. All these negative reports should have never happened. Hasbeens like Wade should keep their mouth shut and stop poking the Bear. Stop treating him like a scrub, like a lil kid, like the next RIO or Beasley and started treating him with some damn RESPECT. We should of been running plays for him much more per game. We should of been establishing a system that plays to HIS strengths and the strengths of the team. Instead, what do u see? A lot of BS pathetic small ball attempts that end in LOSSES. What else do you see? Benching of Hassan in 4th quarters that lead to Losses about 90% of the time.
This season was meant to woo Him. This season was meant to gauge what WADE has in the tank. What his next contract should be. This season was meant to DEVELOP Justise Winslow.
The Heat and specifically Spo have ruined this season. We have pushed Whiteside to the point where I don't see any way he stays. And it will go down as a HUGE mistake. Even the Whiteside haters have to know that letting him walk is DUMB. He would of been at the very minimum a huge trade piece. Now we will be left with NOTHING. And a HOLE at the C spot, AGAIN. A hole that for YEARSSSSSSS we wanted a C. Well we found him, and we pushed him away.
Overreation you say? Well, we will see now wont we...

I didn't want to get into this, because most on here thinks that i'm a Whiteside fan first, which isn't exactly true. Spo obviously has an issue with Hassan, and for whatever reasons it is showing. We don't know what is happening in practice and behind the scenes so its all just speculation, but Spo obviously along with Wade, Bosh treats Whiteside differently and i don't think it's fair. Riley has to do something soon, because this isn't good for chemistry long term. Spo obviously doesn't want to play him, so Riley needs to test the trade market and get dumb Spo the players that fits his "system".. I for one is tired of hearing about this Whiteside crap, we either going to involve him in the teams plans, or move him. Simple.
he's going to walk this summer, no longer a doubt in my mind.

At this point i'd say it's 50-50. Whiteside strikes me as someone who is unsure and i think if he's not traded this will probably go on until our last game of our season, playoffs or sooner. Riley is the one i'm curious to see what he does in this situation the most, Riley talked all offseason about how Hassan is important, and he should be demanding the ball like Zo, etc....Riley is the wildcard in this all, which direction is he going to choose? We shall see..

We have proven winners, high character vets on this team. They seen it all, made the money, got the fame, they're smart, mature professionals. The only reason they might not "like him" is simple - they feel he's not a winning player despite his talent. They don't' think he's really making us a much stronger TEAM overall with him being here.
You give our guys a young stud (let's call him player X) that they think would help them win more and help carry the load, you don't think they would like player X? they would **** love X. They would be non stop praising him, urging the coach to play player X as much as possible.

Re: Hassan Whiteside: Road To The Max
i'll toss everyone on this team to the curb before i give up on whiteside. our old guys have reached a ceiling where they just aren't good enough to lead us to a ring. in the grand scheme of things, whiteside shouldn't be taking a back seat to them if the end result will be the same.

AKA just about any good young player they feel is helping them win games and takes pressure off. It's not like they're trying to prove themselves and are threatened by Whiteside. They're established. They want to win and share the load.
IMO they just don't think very highly of Whiteside as a player.

To a part of the fan base Whiteside is almost equivalent to Antony Davis. For realz. I think part of the reason is they ignore he's 26 YO and just focus on the fact he's very inexperienced. Yes he has some room to grow, more then a normal 26YO, but a lot less then a normal 21-22 YO. And they Ignore the clear attitude issues.
For most of the fan base he's a prospect closer to DeAndre Jordan because we're optimistic about his weaknesses.
From everything I see, I believe that for Spo, Wade and Bosh he's the equivalent of Jonas Valanciunas/Nikola Vucevic. meaning a good player, with real flaws, not a max player, Isn't a lock to get big minutes every night, and isn't a huge part of what we're doing.

I'd get rid of Bosh before i do Wade. People talk about Hassan being selfish and wanting his money but have we all forgotten about 2014's offseason? Bosh was ready and willing to walk to Houston with no problem after Bron dipped, only reason he stayed was because Riley offered him MORE money than Houston, not some #HEATlifer BS and loyalty stuff. He was a goner.

Its true, I never bought into this loyalty nonsense. We offered him the max plus an extra year that the rockets couldn't match, plus he gets to stay in Miami with his boy wade.
Still, putting that to the side. Wade is 30something going on 40. His game is in a rapid decline. Bosh, I can see him playing at this level for 4-5 more years. I cant say that about Wade. My dream scenario is for Wade to be a 6th man. And no more Kobe thank you contracts. Get paid what your worth TODAY not for what you did Years ago. So a declining SG that cant shoot and rarely plays defense. Id say 6mil per but seeing as the cap is going up and he is a Heat lifer id offer him 10m x 3 years so 30m total.

GOATSIDE.
Idk I think Spo,Wade and Bosh want him to be Deandre Jordan. I think they see him as a max player but in order to keep it going he needs to play the role that is given to him. I don't see anywhere else in the league where he could play and it'll be any different.

How do they want him to be Deandre Jordan???, When they treat him like Ryan Hollins!! DeAndre Jordan actually gets some plays ran for him, see lastnight. They treat Hassan like a straight up bum, so i don't buy that BS. Bosh is jealous of him and idk what Wade's problem is. Spo kisses up to Bosh & Wade so he will roll with whatever they want, "Amare starting". Someone explain to me how is it ok for Amare to get plays ran and touches, but Hassan none???

Look at what we're doing with Justise. He's a 19YO rook and he's playing 4th quarters regularly. Despite having Deng, and despite him being locked up under contract for 4 years.
Now look at Hassan. He's becoming a free agent, and regularly gets benched in 4th quarters.
Are we gonna bench our max player? is he going to dramatically improve from now to the start of next season when he'll make 21 Mil if we give the max?
It doesn't look like we're seeing him as a max player.
Also, If he's not willing to "play the role" now, before the big contract, It's not likely he'll suddenly accept that role after being given 90 Mil$.

Deandre jordan getting an alley oop from Chris Paul doesn't not equal getting plays called for him. Why the hell would Bosh be jealous of whiteside? Why reach to make a point. If these guys hated Whiteside he wouldn't be on the team. You treat him like he's AD or Drummond but he's not.

Re: Hassan Whiteside: Road To The Max
Regarding Wade:
Teams gameplan more to stop Wade, not Bosh, as Wade is the most impactful player offensively. Miami loses Wade and they lose their most talented player offensively by far. I get that Bosh is a shooter and his game will age gracefully, but he is not 1st tier player. Miami will go nowhere with a Bosh and/or Dragic led team.
In addition, Wade is still a much more polarizing player than Bosh that if you lose Wade in the offseason, you will also lose a huge chunk of fanbase in the Miami community, meaning no more sellout games and sales will plummet. Also, it will inhibit the Heat family rhetoric BS that the franchise is trying to sell to FAs. You have to think of it from a marketing standpoint as well. Arison and Riley know how much appeal Wade has here. They want to put butts in seats. It would be dumb to let him go like that b/c of $5mil/yr extra.
