Miami Heat play the hearts out!!
They definitely overachieved, but that was the problem a lot of us had in the offseason. A lot of us didn't like the signing of Lowry and Duncan. It felt like we were tying all of our cap space to a short term team had little chance of actually winning a title. I thought we were going to be a 4th seed who lost in the 1st or 2nd round. We made the ECF and got the #1 seed, but it's the same problem that I feared. A short term team that won nothing, and is now stuck with corpses.
On top of that, who the hell here thought this Jimmy max extension was the right move?
Jimmy doesn't concern me as much. He has to do so much because everyone else around him are complete bums. If we actually put legit star power next to him, he wouldn't have to do as much. Since everyone is hopeless, he has to attack the basket and put his body on the line, and that's where his lack of shooting ability hurts him. That's when we get exposed on offense.

But when/if what I think happens happens and Heat win game 6 I'll be back to see what you guys say. I think it'll happen. These celts are maddening and frustrating to no end.
And mods that want to ban me just give me a 24 for now. I want to be back here when the Heat win in Boston. Hell if it doesn't happen I'll perhaps come back and risk a ban just to say I was wrong. I swear on everything I love and hold dear I see the Heat winning game 6 though. We'll see soon enough with the aggressive NBA scheduling.
Why would you get banned? I would hope our mods aren’t this sensitive. What’s the point of a board if we can’t have civilized discussion, even with the enemy. You guys have the better team, it’s clear. More importantly you have what all teams need, a guy like Tatum that you drafted with high pick and turned him into a star. You then went and got his Pippen, albeit both are inconsistent and flawed, but a heck of a duo. You guys have done well. See you next time.

These players have to be moved now while we can still get out of their contracts.
They are mediocre to decent players that are extremely overpaid

What's even worse is now we can't trade high because his value will take a huge hit after these playoffs. He's a meme on the Internet right now. He's getting exposed on the national stage for all to see. So it seems like all we can do is make his ass work in the offseason on an actual offensive game.

I swear if you rescheme the offense in a way that Bam is getting 18 shots a night he’s averaging 25-11-3 at worst and and if we’re a top 3 seed in the East how is Bam viewed around the league? Hell he was already 4th for DPOY and 5th for all NBA at 19-10-3 this season

My team aside, if the Heat didn't exist, I'd have zero interest in the NBA. I hate this small ball, jack 40 30's a game BS I see almost every team do now. The NBA product doesn't interest me as much anymore. Especially with 100 FT's a game too.

The problem in the playoffs is he has regressed somehow on offense. He seemingly isn't even taking the mid-range jumpers at the same rate, not to mention to extreme allergy to the 3 point line.

And I swear thats it for me for now.
I think I may have run into you at the Haymarket T station once several years ago. Or it might have been Chinatown. Orange Line for sure. Remember that we discussed the 88 Hawks series and what Bird said about Atlanta after they failed to close it out at home in Game 6? I’m sure you remember. That they blew it and would never win Game 7 in the Garden? That series must skew your thinking now about how this one might play out. But, rest assured, this Heat team doesn’t have it in them to pull that off. No Dominique. And certainly no Bird.

He is not even looking at the basket. He thinks his job is pick and roll and handovers.

Yep, he hasn’t been as agressive with his touches and the offensive scheme of allowing him less touches as we focus on 3 point shooting and Jimmy being absolutely dominant until injury. He’s still shooting like 60% and it’s a a shame we aren’t taking more of a game 3 approach to these games seeing how great it worked then.

This is not the same Bam in the regular season. That's the point. He's not even looking to make a jumper. When he does make a jumper, he hesitates first. He's not even looking at the basket. He's a max player looking to defer to everyone else. I get that Williams is a great player, but Bam is not even looking to be aggressive. I don't care if prime Tim Duncan is guarding him. 1 FGA is unacceptable. IDC if it's not part of the scheme. The ball is in his hands and he either turns the ball over or bricks a shot.

What do you mean 1 FGA? He had 15 tonight.
The scheme has him doing DHOs non stop. Change it and put him in a position to attack and score. Tell him that’s what you want and I guarantee he puts those numbers up. When he has that mindset and we have that gameplan he dominates

It’s just weird to me that before the season both Bam and Pat said we were going to see more of a scoring Bam this season now that we have Lowry. Spo had other things in mind though I believe
