Bam and his contract are great, now Lowry and Duncan :banghead:

Believe it or not both Duncan Robinson and Kyle Lowry are seen as important players for us. Their contracts are exactly right with respect to the market. They both had down seasons, but even so, they are good enough to win games for us. I know this isn't a popular take, but you'll miss them when they are gone (and playing against us.)

I don't agree with that take. In the playoffs If they where on the opposite side of the court we would target both of them. We would feast attacking Duncan. As for Lowry, we would force him to defend because let's be honest, he's old and fat. Lowry would be annoying with the "vet moves" that's for sure.

i been calling for a rebuild for awhile now... even the spurs are tanking now to rebuild... we arent gettin mitchell , kyrie, anyone of superstar caliber.... and your not winning in the nba with 1 good player... we are now a treadmill team.

Were the spurs just in game 7 of the conference finals too?

We need to reinforce. The bigger the hit the better. Hopefully we don’t get f*cked by the market

even if you win the conference finals, it will be the same as when the lakers embarrassed us in the finals... its a superstar driven league, this culture thing is NOT winning us titles. i kno it hurts, but its true.

I dont think so.. honestly there are going to be a lot of contenders that are going to offer him money.. he fits right in with almost every top team in the west. Milwaukee may want him back too. If the money is the same then the next step is whos going to get him closer to a championship.

I bet golden state is definitely interested. But im not sure what they have to offer. Wiggins wants an extension, now. And so does poole

Most of these teams only have the tax payer MLE of 7 mil. Philly is trying to shed contracts to offer the full 10 mil. We are offering the early bird 3 year which starts at 8.4 and gives him incremental raises throughout contract that averages 9 per 27 total

Yes, please. I enjoyed that early-season Yurt/Martin/Herro/Lowry lineup. Won a lot of games and was a lot of fun.

Yurt made the small ball Martin 4 work. Did not work so much with Bam. That was a fun lineup. Omer did some serious work on the boards down low allowing Martin to free lance.

IceColdCubano wrote:***Update

Just got of the phone with my boy, lots of new tidbits of information.

1. PJ is not pushing any agenda to get the full midlevel right off the bat, opening in free agency if it hurts the teams ability to get better, however if Miami cannot show any promising trades or scenarios he will hope to get it. Everything is still looking at him resigning, the twitter gossipers are pushing an agenda. Philly was involved in some packets with his name and as a third team which they were trying to get in on Miami off loading some dollars during the Irvin storm.

2. Nets still keeping options open with Miami as a line of communication, however the senior staff want nothing of the sort. Too much of a liability for expiring and Brooklyn is still asking for Herro & Lowry + Picks tentatively. He said that it smells like Durant has not enjoyed how this whole process was handled with too much being leaked by Brooklyn for leverage and could still potentially ask out mid season if they don't turn the ship around. (which Miami wants to have the ability to get in on this later but giving PJ that contract will hurt us with that possibility).

3. The player Miami is targeting with the big trade is still in play however another team is now in the mix and has one up their previous offer which may force us to give up more in this trade. Miami is all in however as they feel this is the way and are waiting until tomorrow afternoon to see what else shakes free. The player also has this team as one of their top destinations so is gonna be a betting war.

4. There was an additional packet from a West team sent in this afternoon but it went to a different team however it was high caliber, as they have Andy involved on making something work. Gonna try and get more scoop on this tomorrow if he can.

5. There are now 2 possibilities of offloading Duncan for another player of similar value, and another for picks and a expiring which could be bought out. Depending on where the trades are heading Miami has the ability to gain some assets to sweetened one of our bigger deals.

6. He now knows the number Dipo's camp is looking for its a shorter deal and a lot less than Lowry's deal as he originally heard. 2 year deal at 12 Mil per, They want a prove it deal somewhere as they are confident Dipo can regain form and go for a long multi year deal a bigger dollars later. Miami feels they can get that down to 8 or 9, as Dipo likes it here and feels confidant he can earn the starting spot with a full offseason.

1) Good to hear. There has been a lot of nonsense rumors that contradict each other

2) I don't expect Kyrie or Durant to happen.

3) Still sounds like Mitchell.

4) I think Duncan is going to have a great year, but if he gets traded, I wish him luck.

5) 2 year guaranteed deal at 8-12 mil seems reasonable. It gives us time to sort out Herro. I also think he will earn the starting spot at the 1 or the 2. It might be a good idea to bring Lowry off the bench to preserve him....also PJ.

Appreciate the info Ice but its starting to sound like your inside man is taking you for a ride on this big fish.

Yesterday the player and his camp had requested a firm update from their team by afternoon so they’d know how to proceed and start making noise if needed. Afternoon came and went. Now another team is in the mix and forcing us to give up more - even though yesterday he reported that we were already at the point of throwing in a player we didnt want to. Setting the stage for the final update tomorrow which would be something along the lines of the price got too high and we had to pull out.

IceCold, it seems like since your original post of you friend saying “we got our 3rd scorer” it has been continued obstacles like the need for a 3rd team, and now theres a bidding war.

so I guess im asking plainly… now being in a bidding war in which (for someone like Mitchell) there isnt much more they can add to a trade bc our assets were already limited. the chances have clearly gone down as you are indicating, correct? how likely does your friend think it is now? being in a bidding war and needing to find a 3rd team to agree to facilitate a trade is FAR from being close to a deal i hope you realize.

its bs. each passing day it’s 1 new obstacle. the first post his friend said we got our guy lol. Next.

like you said and i just posted … as things stand it is extremely unlikely miami wins any “bidding war” when theyve already offered their best and apparently we still need a 3rd team and according to 1 post we already included another player we didnt want to initially include in the package. apparently the player also needed to release info from his agent to push being out. never ended up hearing that part. enough already.

Not sure what you disagree with but clearly Lowry tossing leading passes across the court was a big part of our offense. Our other players imitated him. In the playoffs it doesn't always work, but opposing teams still need to take such plays into consideration. The same is true for Duncan. When he's on court, he attracts defenders. If he is shooting 40% plus nobody argues against his contract.

After Duncan Robinson returned from his only absence during the season (1/17, because of covid-19 protocols), he averaged 40.2% from beyond the arc at 7 attempts per game.

Bertans is much worse. Could you articulate better where your issue is? Lowry's conditioning is really not an issue for this season. He's very professional.
