OKC is built for a dynasty, but we will see what happens. I remember when Artest took the MLE to go to Lakers after they won in 09. People said they NBA was over for next 3-4 years and Lakers only won one more in 10.

And of course we all remember Lebron and the not 1.... not 2... not 3....

We'll see what happens, but I do like OKC moving forward. Around Allstar break I bet on them to win this year and it was one of the rare bets I actually won. :)

I don't hate Heat fans being "spoiled" because that means we have a track record of success, and people have expectations. Would you rather be the Hornets or Kings and be happy just to make the playoffs?

Now, I'm not saying everyone should be super entitled and whiny and complain about everything. I'm just saying the Heat fanbase is "spoiled" because people have great expectations for them. They are supposed to be one of the premier franchises in the NBA. I'm not one of those toxic fans. That's just how it's going to be, though. Outside the Panthers now, the Heat are the franchise we all look up to in South Florida, and when they look incompetent, it frustrates people even more. We all expect the Dolphins and Marlins to disappoint us. We expect the Heat to be great.

I think I've been a good balance of positive and negative.

Shoutout to lilseb for coming in and speaking straight up facts. I’d tell you to tread lightly with critiquing the front office but when 3ball wakes up ANYONE else who has been critical of the front office today will be ignored and I’ll be singled out with a bunch of culture/organization/Bam stan this and that nonsense and everyone else will be home free. Rinse and repeat

Well you don’t have an arguments beyond speaking on the greatness of the Houston Rockets and all their accomplishments over the last few years. Maybe we should be more like the Rockets

No I do you just want to be dense and delusional as usual and now you want to be a smartass. I love how you conveniently keep leaving out OKC and my point still stands in Houston.

With that said, I don't think it's fair to dismiss anyone's criticism that is logical and fair because the Heat have won in the past. If they sign a bad contract, it's still a bad contract, no matter how many championships they won or what their win percentage is.

OKC didn’t have to play anybody who was legit this year, and got drug to 7 by a mid Pacers team. I don’t look at them like the mid 10s Warriors or anything close to that. They will soon start to experience tax difficulties and hope they can draft their way out of it. They got a nice 2-3 year window here to win another one, but I wasn’t moved by watching them at all this year. I think that’s a mentally fragile team, that would have gotten boat-raced by some of the Elite NBA teams we’ve seen over the last decade.

SGA is a fraud to me, I don’t respect his game.

The joke is Pat is sleeping, but I'm sure they've been on the phone with a bunch of teams. They are working on something, whether it's major or not.

How many teams attempted what OKC did and have it not work out?

I’m just curious what you wanted Miami to do? Tank? For 3-4 years hope they get lucky?

Is that what you’re complaining about?

In your mind after going to the finals in 23 was it time to trade Butler, Herro etc and stockpile assets? Or how about in 22 after we came a wide open 3 PT shot from Butler from going to the Finals? I’m curious to know when the time for the Heat to tank was or the big asset they could have traded away for picks, considering the two biggest trade pieces before Herro, Bam and Butler left for nothing or had a career ending medical situation.

Who is dismissing anyones criticism? I have been lurking the past few days and there’s literally hundreds of posts bitching about how Miami has failed the offseason and doesn’t know what they’re doing.

Then I go look up the transactions that actually happened…and it’s a bunch of boring marginal player free agent deals? From the reaction here I thought we gave up Ware and draft picks for something, or missed a clear superstar, or something crazy like that.

Just because a couple posters are trying to have perspective, that isn’t silencing anyone.

Duncan's agent is a master negotiator. He deserves an award...he seems to be an expert at getting Duncan contracts that pay an average of 16M/yr.

Return to Miami Heat
