Devin Carter really looks like a Heat player. The more I watch his highlights, the more like I'm convinced the Heat will draft him.

If he makes it to 15 it’s almost a no doubter that he’s number 1 on our board. The problem is he might have vaulted himself into the lottery with great workouts. The Grizzlies if they don’t make a play for a Center could draft him at 9. His dad is on the Grizzlies staff.

Got to make some trades Metta. Cant miss out on quality players. His production, size and skillset are pretty hard to find.

Hoopshype has him falling to us. Have to hope the draft breaks like this. As a matter of fact i hope the Carter’s prefer this scenario. Maybe Devin doesn’t want to play on the same team his dad is a coach on. Anthony knows Devin would be in good hands here.

If the Grizz do take Carter could they trade Smart? Would the Heat trade for Smart?

We don’t have anything they would want. Why trade for Herro when you already have Bane. Maybe having Smart keeps them from drafting Carter hopefully. If anything watch out for the Grizzlies to use Marcus Smart to move up to 3 so they can draft Donovan Clingan. The move would also reunite Smart with Udoka in Houston. The word is Houston is clamoring for more win now vets. Smart would be an ideal pickup for them.

Sheesh, if the Pistons pick Matas and the Blazers take Reed Shepard, they both deserve to be regulated to the g league.

Blazers desperately need three point shooting so Sheppard as a backup to Scoot would fit.

The blazers already made a fuss last year about not wanting Herro cause they already had Scoot, Sharpe, and Simmons. So they take even smaller Herro in the draft? While they still need wings?

They have another pick at 14. They either get a wing there at 7 or a guard like Sheppard or they get McCain at 14. They could draft Salaun or da Silva at 14.

And I know it's a lazy Jalen Rose style comparison to say the white Kentucky player is like the other white Kentucky player, but I really see that being Reed shepherds role in the NBA. He's a much better shooter out the gate, and a better team defender at the college level, but is like 2-3 inches smaller without a long wingspan or elite athleticism to compensate. He'll work hard, be where he needs to be on defense and contest all the time, but his physical tools will make him the weak link all the time just like Herro.

He’ll be a solid backup that will provide plenty 3 point shooting. He’s also going to be on a rookie contract unlike Herro who’s clocking 30 million. Blazers didn’t need Simons and Herro contracts clogging up their books.

It's not only the contract, they already have issues playing them together because of the defensive issues. Getting yet another small guard is just adding to it. I think fit matters in this draft alot, none of them are sure thing can't miss prospects. Any of them could likely bust if the wrong team takes them

I think they should definitely go Holland or even Cody Williams. Huge need at the wing spot. The best fit for Detroit is going to be Reed Sheppard. He’ll get to play with guard Cade and have Thompson defending at the 3 spot.

I fear the combine might have put him out of reach. Teams are looking for ways college players can transition to the L and with the length and the combine performance (fastest sprint in 20 years?) will make him look better.

Not to harp on the guy, but how would you rate Holmes's athletically on a 1-10 scale?

I think this might be the final factor that sours me on him, I'd rate him as a below average athlete, just looks weak, and like he's running in mud..slow and low of the ground. If you're an undersized big with a questionable shot you really need to be more explosive and strong, I just don't see it.

I have Both Ware and Filipowski above him.

Thats why Ware is so intriguing to me. 7 foot. 7'5" wingspan. Combine numbers show an athlete. He may be a little slow processing but damn, sometimes you just need to be big and be able to outrun and outjump guys.

I'm not sure your going to have to worry about us taking him Rex. It looks like he's got a promise in the 20's and is canceling workouts with teams. Holmes tested out as a mid grade athlete at the combine just in between the likes of Ware and Filipowski.
