As expected based on age and mileage - Herro got better and Lilard got worse (even before multiple serious injuries).

Now the Bucks are stuck with one of the worst contracts in the league.

If we lost Herro/Jovic/Ware/picks for Dame - This organization would've been in purgatory for years to come. Probably would've left us in the worst situation in the entire league - old, bad, injured, no current young improving players and no future assets.

Gutting the team for 37YO KD will probably result in something similar, in pretty high probability.

Does he really have that much mileage though? We’re seeing guys older than him with far more mileage holding up better.

Despite Herro getting better and Dame getting “worse” Dame was still the far superior player.

Averages 32-5-9 on 66TS% since getting to Milwaukee when Giannis is out and he gets to run the show by the way, those are insane numbers.

Yes Herro got better and Dame got worse but Dame was still better than Herro. I’m not even going to touch the playoffs.

Jovic was meh and is up to get paid.
JJJ was trash last season
Ware is the only bright spot and there is no indication the Blazers would have drafted him.
That just reinforces just how how much of a trash offer that package was.

Find it hard to believe he’ll punt the season but he may be extremely loyal and also not want to move his family.

Wiggins Duncan Jaime and a 1st, basically what we’ve been discussing on here. Sign me up, that’s an easy yes

I dont find it hard to believe. Many players do not want to experience what Durant and Paul George experienced. Why should he have faith in another organization to be able to construct a contender?

At least it seems we’ll have this out of the way by the draft.

He’s deeply rooted in the Bucks community. He’s probably going to give them another year.

Take out Duncan and add Rozier. We'll swap pick 20 for pick 29.

Need to find some sort of middle ground trade with Duncan that two teams can split the cap savings. We don't necessarily need the full 10 mil in savings to have some flexibility. If we can open up 5-6 million we will have access to the non tax payer MLE. The other team can save 4-5 million on any deal involving Duncan. It's a creative way to include him in deals to get a player back and also the cap wiggle room.

Rozier or Duncan’s expiring post Kd trade with what else? Collins becomes Bam/Wares backup with Jovic backing up KD and a few minutes at the 4 (if he’s still here)

The obvious trade money matching wise would be Rozier and a 2nd rd pick. Utah may want a 1st rd pick swap somewhere for having to take on Rozier who's essentially worthless. I think when Kuzma got traded it commanded a 2028 1st rd pick swap. It's possible we could expand the deal with Utah to include Clarkson or Sexton. I don't think Sexton is going to come real cheap though. Clarkson on the other hand they will be looking to give away. Utah is in need of roster spots to make room for the incoming draft picks. They may be a team that wants the Duncan contract even if it saves them a few million and they could release him. Think something along the lines of Clarkson and Collins for Rozier and Duncan. It's like 40 for 46 mil trade that saves us 6 million and saves Utah 4 million once they drop Duncan. Or they can just flip Duncan again. On a side note Spo would probably love to have Clarkson's scoring spark coming off the bench in both guard spots. He once coached him with the Filipino national team. Also has a relationship with Herro.

I feel like they’d be a perfect place for Haliburton or Fox, even a Davion Mitchell maybe.

It makes way more sense for both sides sadly. As soon as the Spurs entered the conversation and questions about the 2nd pick came into play, it was a wrap. We can't even begin to compete with that. Plus even without championship contention, Wemby studying under KD for 2-3 seasons >>>>>>> for the future of their franchise.

Honestly even when the Knicks entered the picture, it was kind of a signal that it wasn't going to happen for us. They also can offer a decent package without being terrible after.

That's why all the chatter about how above a KD trade we are bc KD is washed, old, etc. is funny. He might end up going for a lot. And yet somehow we are both too good for stars that are far and away better than our best players, but also everyone on our team sucks and is terrible.

It's not about being too good, it's about trying to be smart. It's about trying to avoid making moves that will cripple the franchise for another 3 or 4 years. No one has ever gotten ahead making obviously bad decisions. You don't invest in guys at the end of their career.

If KD wants to come over as a 1 year rental, that's fine. Giving him an extension is not.

It's a two year extension. Is that really making or breaking anything? I don't think so. And we're not exactly willing to break the bank for him in a trade. Most deals I've seen suggested are centered around Wiggins, Duncan/Rozier, Jaime/Jovic, and a 1st. Herro, Bam, Ware are untouchable as far as the trade goes. So where is the real investment? Adding KD to that core should be enticing, but too many people are acting like it would somehow make us worse.

Not saying I don't get your logic, I do. And ultimately the FO is gonna do whatever it wants anyway. But if Tyler makes another leap and Bam continues to develop on offense, we would be right in the mix. Boston will suck next year with Tatum out. The Bucks too. The rest of the playoff teams outside of Indy, Cleveland, and NYK were never that much better than us, even with as chaotic of a season as we had. Not to mention, making the KD move and then following up with a move to get Sexton/Collins and resign Davion would really cement us as top 2-4 in the conference.

This could be a very cheap option to backup Davion

If Hawks are talking to teams we need to be one of them. Let our bigs feast with a top 5 playmaker in the league and let him and Collins reunite and get that chemistry back.
