Harden/Jimmy/Duncan would be one of the best trio's in the league too

Would be like the 10th top 5 player that Riley got to work with in his career. Such a goat

Duncan aint good enough to be a part of any "trio"

Based on? What's the precedent for 31-year old non-stars opting out of $27M contracts?

So do you not believe Jrue Holiday will be able to get a 3yr $27mil+ contract from any team in the league at age 31?

Chris Paul signed a 4yr $157mil contract at age 33.

Kyle Lowry signed a 3yr $100mil contract at age 30/31. Then signed another 1yr extension for 30mil at age 33/34

We gave Jimmy a 4yr max of $138mil after he opted out of his player option in Philly at age 30.

Jrue would be silly not to opt out even if he cant get more than 27mil starting salary to not get the security of more years at that age wouldn't be a smart move. If he injures himself in his final year he could cost himself $50-60mil.

If you mean 3 years at $27M per year at age 31 and on, no I don't expect him to easily come upon that with the new scope of salary cap.

Lol, no.

Garnett, Pierce and Allen were in a different league.

And that was a league below, Wade, Bosh, Lebum
I remember when the Dolphins were perennial contenders

There are two reasons Jrue wouldn’t opt out. The first is a major injury, and the second is a significant reduction in the salary cap. But you are right, we can be pretty confident he’d opt out

The salary cap will still be larger than any of the years these three players got their contracts in 2021. Jrue will get a solid 3yr offer and he will opt out.

I hope so! And it's definitely possible. I'm increasingly aware that I can't predict the future.

Hello Heat fans, I wonder if this could be something on the horizon? I've never heard of this guy, but if there's any truth to this, huge acquisition for your team:

Celtics rumored to be pursuing Holiday.

That would sting if it happened.

Adam Borai (@ClutchNBA5R) said on 5 reasons sports on a recent podcast that basically the Miami draftpick wasn't really theirs anymore(drafting for someone else).

On of the national media NBA podcasts mentioned a week or so ago Bertans already had a deal with another team, maybe it was a sign and trade.

That wasn't a report by Adam. He was sharing an opinion about what he thought of the pick. He made that clear so people will not misquote him.

Adam said... "I honestly don't think it's their pick anymore." and then said... "there may have already been a deal."
He says this right before 32:00 on today's Five on the Floor. Ethan then says he's heard basically the same thing hence the reason he(personally) is not doing a deep dive for who may be picked at 20.

It's why I said he's "basically" saying it wasn't really their draft pick. Also, I don't think it's within the NBA rules to be making trades or FA signings at this time, hence nobody is committing 100%.
