Re: 2025 Regular/Offseason Season Thread Vol. 10
Would it be possible for the Suns to just waive and stretch Beal's contract? I know it's an insane amount of money, but at least it would get rid of the headache of dealing with his no trade clause.
.

We don’t have a historical haul of assets. No need to even bother with this. If anything this helps us out even more for Durant.

They might not have to if they get under the tax. They can just wait till he’s a big expiring and eventually just force him to waive the NTC if he wants to play hoops again and play for his next contract.

They don’t want KD or Booker. Hell, they might not even want Giannis. Kind of seems stubborn at this point

Yes, but in the meantime your choking on that contract and you're forced to trade away a player that you don't want to trade ... and not get much back for him since everyone knows you have no leverage and limited options.

You don’t want that dead money for so many years spread out on the cap. Better off just sucking it up one more year.

I agree that you don't want that, and I'd be screaming my head off at the idea if it was the Heat. But you also don't want to live with a noose around your neck. Their cap is huge swirling pile of poop with a no trade cherry on top.

More "forward thinking" and "strategic" then "stubborn"
They have a young core, why should they go after KD? it makes no sense. Just like it make even less sense for us, being a weaker team with less assets.
And Booker looked overated this year and makes a ton going forward, I see no problem with their logic. they should be picky with their star target. Wish we would be too.

Its not even about that. They made T-Shirts and gave it away game 1 vs Indiana at their home game, celebrating the point difference of how bad they beat us. Cuz wow a 1 seed rocked an 8 seed that had roster turmoil all season in the first round. Congratulations. They can use those shirts to wipe away the tears. Lmao sorry but that really ticked me off when I saw it. I became an instant pacers fan for the duration of the series.
1 seed rocked a 10 seed*

This gets rid of all their bad contracts and keeps their flexibility for the future.
It also means Heat can waive Duncan to make some space and resign Davion.
I don't see the Suns taking this deal though, but this is the only thing I'd offer for KD, take it or leave it.
I think it’s very important to try and keep Duncan out of the deal. Let the Suns facilitate a salary dump with another team. We need Duncan’s cap money to free up 19 million to build the team after we give up 4 players for Durant. 9 million will not be enough. You can certainly put a fork at any chance of Mitchell since his RFA qualifying is 8.7 mil. Keep in mind Suns can get into the first apron by releasing Martin and Micic allowing them to aggregate players in trade.

Re: 2025 Regular/Offseason Season Thread Vol. 10
All right here is the move
3 team trade
We ship out Herro, Ware, JJJ and Duncan + two first round picks to the Bucks for Giannis
We trade the Pelicans Wiggins, Jovic, Larson + a 1st for Zion
Figure out the shooting later, just put Zion, Bam, and Giannis on the floor and absolutely bully the entire league.
I also need James Johnson back on the team, we can put him at the 1 and he can round house crane kick somebody on the opposing team once a week to send a message
Throw the corpse of Wayne Elignton out there in the corner, it really does not matter. Alex Burks could likely average 20+ a night with those guys on the floor.

Yes you're right, they need to keep Duncan out of any deals.
However, the luxury tax is at $187,897,000 and with KD <-> Wiggins/Terry/Jaquez and waiving Duncan they'd be around $164m, with 8 players under contract, 24m should be enough room to resign Davion and 5 other guys to smaller contracts (e.g. Dru/Burks could be back).
I really don't believe the Suns would entertain the offer, but this would be an acceptable move for me, it gives them a solid roster with a good starting 5 of Ware/Bam/KD/Herro/Davion and HH/Jovic/Kyle off the bench + some min vet. signings (Dru?/Burks?)

Idk, 4 1sts any swap the young guys and an all star is a pretty damn competitive package.
I wonder where he decides he wants to go

Even if we had that one extra pick our offer gets beat by these teams. Not only do they have a lottery pick this year but numerous picks in the following years. Our 20th pick this year is very mid in terms of trade value then the next two picks are not till 2030 and 2032. Don’t get gaslit
