Looks like he needs work creating his own play. Can nail the open shot like Strus so he def has NBA potential, but also need to see his defense and intangibles.

No thank you. We have got to stop normalizing roleplayers creating their own shot. Theyre roleplayers for a reason. Stick to your god damn roles and get open without the ball.

Yeah it seemed like as Duncan tried to expand his game his shooting became less and less reliable.

I am more referring to rip hamilton style creating his own play off the ball. Not Tyler Herro style creating the shot with the ball in his hands.

I don’t think you realize how far Herro’s come what he did last year already put him beyond the peaks of the guys you mentioned.

His skill set fits the modern game perfectly. The real mistake is trying to pigeonhole him as just a “bench scorer/secondary playmaker”. The only way to find his ceiling is to let him run as the offensive engine and he already showed flashes that he's capable last year. If it doesn’t work, fine, you move on. But if it does, you’ve unlocked something most teams spend their whole rebuild chasing.

And funny enough, you won’t guess what Warriors fans used to say about Curry:

“His ankles are made of glass, trade him before he breaks again”
“Monta’s clearly the guy, Steph should be the sixth man”
“He’s just a flashy shooter, not someone you build around”

Not saying this is the same story but maybe show a little patience before writing off a 25y old who’s improved every single season

Tyler Herro is not Steph Curry. Not today. Not tomorrow. Not ever. Absolute best case scenario is he will grow up to be Jeff Hornacek ... except our guy has a green light to dominate the ball and shoot in a way that Hornacek never did.

Who should have been dominating the ball last season instead?

And who should have been shooting more last season instead?

I'm telling you: Jovic and Jaquez are going to be sitting in favor of this guy.

Fontecchio is a better player than Duncan Robinson clearly imo.

Robinson did only one thing well to shoot 3s.
Fontecchio a lot better in many other aspects of the game.

Heat have a better roster this year.
Having good bench players makes the difference

Let’s pump the brakes, Fonteccio hasn’t done nearly anything compared to Duncan. He’s played on bottom feeders his whole career, I hope he contributes here.

I hope thats sarcasm, there's very little to show evidence of that. Hopefully he can contribute, but odds are he's gone after this season. Glad hes hooping though. It'll be fine to have another shooter off the bench as an option

As someone who's followed Fontecchio's career, I agree that he's a much better all around player. But being average-to-good in a lot of areas may not be as valuable in the NBA as a specialist who's absolutely ELITE at one skill. In Duncan's case, shooting. Fontecchio however, doesn't have any elite skills at the NBA level.

I take Simone, Jovic “development” or showing outl in euro ball, for what it’s worth… nothing..

Theyre roleplayers in real NBA ball. Guys like Kendrick Nunn be looking like Jordan on that side of the world.

A lot of players that play for their country show out when they go overseas.. patty mills is like the magic johnson of australia.

We shall see what comes of it when they get back to Miami but my expectations are very low. Theyre all roleplayers.. and theyll likely draw interest from teams who want to fill out their bench at the deadline.. and im trading them all 1-15 for the right price by the deadline

Nobody should dominate the ball. Only superstars should ever be granted that role. You keep the ball moving until you find a high percentage shot or the play clock winds down. Tyler Herro is not that guy. Tyler Herro doesn't even know that guy.

That was the last 2 games of the playoffs...how did that go? Until the clock winds down then toss the grenade to Herro.

Tyler Herro is gonna be sending every one of his doubters on here a DM talking about how great he is instead of showing results on the court.

Does this open up an avenue for Kawhi to come here and be Tyler’s 2nd option?!

I knew it was someone else's fault that we got destroyed. If only we'd have leaned on Herro more.

it was widely known Clips got Leonard because of backdoor deals for him and his relatives. Suspicious that now the NBA does something about it

Apparently he’s been wanting to play a lot more and play back to backs but the clippers won’t allow it.

Those legs are cooked but if you can get him to the postseason healthy you’ve got a chance, he’s one of the better postseason performers we’ve seen.
