Dude Melo is meeting with Lakers and NY in LA

Some of y'all going to far with Riley's magic. I am not doubting him but I doubt there is some behind the scenes stuff

Melo has a scheduled meeting with the Lakers and Kobe. It's all over ESPN lol. Kobe flying in from Brazil or something to pitch Melo.

Basically, Ethan said on 790 that he reported something contrary to Broussard, saying that the Big 3 were in fact on the same page. She replied to it with a smiley face and either a re-tweet or a favorite. I have to go back and find it.

We aren't getting Melo though. I know people compare it to 2010 but we had room for 3 guys to take near max deal with some discounts. We can't get offer Melo anything. We don't even have 10-12 mil to offer to other free agents.

Gotcha. I trust Ethan 100X more than Broussard. The one thing that does worry me is that apparently Broussard's "sources" are LeBron's people. Why would LeBron's people tell Broussard to report that all 3 aren't on the same page? Ethan also refuted that they are doing this to dismiss collusion accusations because it's not collusion what they are doing.

I don't even know what to make of that

I think Bosh coming back is a given, all this big 3 talk of not coming back has been about Lebron

Bosh and Wade I think are a lock to come back

It's just Lebron that's a question mark

Lol Broussard is all like big 3 not on the same page, I still think they go back to Miami tho

I swear rich Paul is just putting out these narratives through Broussard. I wonder if this is what skip bayless meant when he said Chris Broussard sold his journalistic soul to get close to Lebron

Lol **** Skip and Garbage Take.

At least, Broussard doesn't troll players to get attention. I know people talk about Fathorse because he made a career following LeBron, Skip has done exactly the same. He has been trolling him since the 08-09 season and made himself a national brand because of his trolling. That doesn't get talked about enough. Skip owes his million dollar contract with ESPN to LeBron.

I don't watch that crap anymore but skip said that like 3 years ago

Broussard was credited as the person to break the news that Lebron is going to Miami but Stephen a smith actually said it earlier

Anyway I hate them all but when they were quarreling skip said that. I thought it was funny and with broussard a sources, it makes sense. His sources are rich Paul, Leon Rose and somebody else, forgot who

Technically we have no wings

Cole and Napier only real people on the roster, right?

Ariza is 3 and D guy, replacement for Shane, versatile

We really fell off when Shane declined.

The thing is Ariza is more of a 2/3 defender. I dont see him defending or wanting to defend 4 at all. We do need a defender because i dont want Lebron to not only run the offense, rebound and like last season guard opposing teams best players. No wonder the man gets tired

Exactly. James will be 30 next year and he can't keep doing this.

In Jordan's 2nd three-peat, he had Pippen to take the most dangerous scorer from positions 1-3, Rodman (and Grant before that) for the 4, big bodied centers who weren't rim protectors but could play post defense and rebound decently, Ron Harper to pick up an assignment on the perimeter and then Jordan could spot pick up the defensive intensity on the perimeter on whomever. This allowed Jordan to concentrate on scoring and facilitating.

People overlook what James did last year. Shoot 56%+, 64%+ TS while playing the headless chicken defense and picking the best scorer at times, rebounding, and facilitating and initiating g offense.

Battier was a guy we could put on multiple scorers (Melo, Durant, etc) which gave James a bit of a break and he could shoot. We don't have that anymore.

If James doesn't had to worry about being the leading rebounder and have to defend everyone, and with the confidence he's shown in his 3 point stroke, I believe he could put up a 30-31 ppg season on 65-66% TS and dish out 7+ assists.

We need a big and a wing but might now have money for both or either at this point.

True say. I used to watch it during the 12 run and I actually expected Skip to give a more fair take throughout the playoffs and after we won but he kept on with his shtick. I remember I stopped watching when after the Finals were over he said KD was the best player in the league and LeBron was still not "clutch". I told myself I wasn't going to waste anymore time listening to this professional troll. Must be nice though, troll an athlete and get millions to do it .

Good to see the wife tweet that.

With that said....Not every man tells their wife everything..

Maybe LeBron's agent/camp are using Broussard to put Riley's feet to the fire so he can go out and make something happen.

LeBron is likely back. Its just a matter of Riley getting someone that makes LeBron want to take a paycut for.

I know everyone is reporting that LeBron is seeking the max, but I still feel as if that is out of character for him. He's preached before about winning over the money, and lost to the Spurs who prove what can be done if the stars take less. So I just feel as if that won't be the case if he signs back with the Heat, LeBron has never taken the max before and if he wants to win in Miami, he can't start now. He makes so much money on endorsements that although he of course deserves the cash, it just doesn't make sense.

Ariza makes sense in a lot of ways.

1 - our biggest problem in the later rounds of the playoffs was perimeter D, and he upgrades that
2 - he can slide into Battier's role skillset wise -- great corner 3 shooter, heady defender -- but is more athletic
3 - he's the right age and has won a title before (playing well in the playoff run at that) so you're not worried about how he'll perform in those situations

Ariza doesn't make sense in a lot of ways

1 - he doesn't really improve our guard play
2 - he's not as strong as Battier, so you might be concerned about having him guard 4s
3 - there has to be some worry that he was a contract year performer who could come back down to earth
4 - he doesn't fix our rebounding problems

Now, Miami knows a lot more about Wade's and Oden's knees than we do, and we don't know how high they are on Napier. So they might not be as concerned with (1) & (2) as we are. After all, if they like Napier a lot and think Wade's knees will be better next season (no Ossatron this season), maybe (1) isn't as big a concern. And if Oden is starting again (like he was before he injured his back) with Bird backing him up, there's a lot less need for Ariza to guard 4s (taking care of concern 2). And if we are playing bigger with Oden/Bird next season, (4) might be a non-issue

That's a whole lot of "ifs" my friend.

I'm sure it's been posted, but Darren Collison signed with the Kings for 3 year $16M.

Basically, young players are most likely to go to whatever team that will pay them the maximum $$$. :x

Are we still waiting for the first domino???

Broussard is a scapegoat. That's more likely.

Return to Miami Heat
