NOW we're talking.

MUCH better to get him after the buyout, then trade Herro + Precious for Sexton, then get Lowery or Spencer Dinwiddie for remaining cap space. Let Duncan and Nunn walk unless they take MLE money.

PG : Sexton
SG : Dinwiddie
SF : Jimmy
PF : Love
C : Bam

Bench : Dipo, KZ, Omer, Dedmon, vet min guys

That's probably the best offseason we can hope for.

Herro and Achuiwa offer might get beat out by the Knicks if they start tossing there draft capital around. Starting to get less optimistic about Sexton with the talk of Kevin Love getting bought out circulating heavy.

Wasnt long ago Riley was saying that he was done giving big contracts to guys over 30 and then had to justify trading for Jimmy to which he responded by saying Jimmy was barely over 30.

Lowry and Conley are in their mid 30s so giving either of them a big contract would be unjustifiable according to his own words.

Agreed. He refused to pay top dollar for Wade when the time came at the same age so I'm not understanding how things have changed all of a sudden. Unless Butler is forcing the issue with Lowry.

Don't' even remember Pat saying that but 'im praying he follows through with his words.

This team is very mature with Jimmy, UD and Bam keeping things straight. We don't need more heady veterans, we need explosive scoring, we need size, agility, energy.

Then we need to sweeten the pot.

Sexton is probably the best young player we can get in the next couple of years - this is the time to hit. Add KZ, throw in a future pick, just get it done. His trade value isn't that high, he's not Beal or Harden. Cavs looking ready to move him. He fits out need both in skillset, in age and in culture.

He also makes little money next year which allows us to spend big in free agency and add another game changer.

We need to get that deal done.

We don't have any pot sweeteners. The only pot sweetener we have to offer is getting the Cavs from under the Love contract but we may not be interested in taking on all that money even with Sexton coming here. Many Knicks publications have listed Sexton as a top priority so unfortunately we are not the only show in town for his services and unfortunately we are lacking the draft capital to go along with young assets that some of these teams have over us.

Deadspin did a story on Butler and Bam after the commercial yesterday.

Apparently, Dwyane Wade is setting his old teammates up to fail. And the result is comical, if nothing else.

If you’ve watched the Miami Heat these last two seasons, you’ll know that Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo really get along. Last night during Game 1 of the NBA Finals, a commercial aired featuring the two Heat All-Stars going on a Disney Jungle Cruise, for the forthcoming movie to be released on July 30. And, as far as celebrity actors go, it was much better than Raekwon getting shot in whatever the **** movie that was. Butler put the blame on “Dwyane,” presumably Heat-great D-Wade, and later also blamed Adebayo, so this is probably all his fault.

Lots of speculation going on, off season GOYA seasoning style!!! Love and sexton seems to be the desired community addition or at least the most realistic. I don't think its the sort of year were there are multiple teams capable of performing a complete retool and threes 3 or 4 superstar talent free agents. That's usually when you see these things happen of shifts from team to team. So were left with very limited amounts of decisions and trades to be honest. I do believe we had a bad year, players didnt get better, we didnt improve our offense or defense, and were practically a dud in the playoffs. I don't think were exactly bubble Miami, but I think the truth lies in the middle. With a few good to decent additions and our young players improving along with some new sets in our offense we should be fighting for the top 4 seeds and winning some playoff series.

It says the Heat have interest in him, no where does it mention it’s reciprocated by Love.

Hard to imagine the Cavs buying Love out before the season.

Gotta think they're gonna want to exhaust all possible trade avenues first.

I said last year that I suspect that Love will get bought out by next season's trade deadline which I still think is the likeliest timeline.

The team he eventually selects will presumably be a title contending team so Mia would have to have an attractive record for him to give real consideration to.

Would you have ever advocated for Mia to trade Wade, Zo, or any of their "legacy players/their best players" to the Knicks?

Outright blasphemy.
