Is that the only way it'll work? Like youth is the true path to the title unless other guys get hurt? You can lean on them not being good enough. But age won't be the reason it doesn't get done.

How old do you think the Nets are? That big 3 will be 30,33,33 when the playoffs start. If they Bring back Blake he'll be 33 too. Joe Harris will be 30. The Suns(the young team) benefited just as much if not more from injuries. When they faced a healthy team they got beat.

Your comparing 3 superstars top 5-10 league players vs Lowry who at most was a star at the bottom of the totem pole in their prime.

No I'm not. The point is age won't be a determining factor. Talent, chemistry and health will. In fact most of time age is actually a good thing in the playoffs. You don't see contenders picking up younger buyout guys after the trade deadline. No team says I'd really like to add youth to my potential championship roster.

Those buyout pieces tend to be bit players that are gonna play a 10-15 mpg here and there. Our 36 year olds gonna need to play starters mins all season plus playoffs

I thought if you decline an option they become an unrestricted free agent with bird rights renounced?

Apparently it keeps his bird rights until it is renounced or he signs elsewhere

Can't be comparing elite players to the also rans we're talking about in here.

I wasn't comparing. The point is age is not something you should be pointing to when a team is looking to construct a contender. And as far as also-rans are concerned Jimmy, Bam and Lowry have accomplished more individually recently as far as Finals appearances or NBA titles than the combo of Kyrie, KD and Harden have.

Thats one 36 year old. Derozan would be 32 when the season begins. The Heat wouldn't be any older than other potential title contender besides Phoenix and probably Denver.

You will not learn. They were calling Jimmy Butler 32 years old 4 years ago.

Have a good feeling about Kendrick Nunn coming back. I just don't see a big market for him out there. Might be able to come to a reasonable agreement with him quickly. Thinking maybe around 8-10 milly.

Heat browsing through the names of available big men...."Are they old? No? Not interested. Are they tremendously undersized for their position? No? Not interested."

Please Pat, don't even think about calling him and include Precious in one of the sign and trades, he reminds me too much of him.

Return to Miami Heat
