Jackson is on an expiring and worse case scenario, Mia could play him this year and could maybe get K. Nunn type of production out of him.

Otherwise, his 11m cap number could be packaged with Duncan and other assests either in a bigger 3-team deal or later moved at the deadline.

Kawhi and Lowry can reunite on the midnight cookie run adventures.

I like this deal and have mentioned it a few times. It makes sense for us and it does right by Lowry reuniting him with Leonard and putting him on a contender.

I feel like every time someone says but they had interest in them, its like the girl you knew in high school. She was a hottie, you see her a few years later, you are like naw. Some chicks don't age well. That's how people see Lowry. Sure they had interest in the past, but that's the past not now.

Pass. Miami will keep Jovic (Luka 2.0), our pick (really? For that?), Gabe Vincent (who is not a throw in), and Highsmith, who should become a useful bench player. Crowder had a great run with us but never played again like that. I'm not a fan of Saric either. Curry was great in Sacramento, but we're set with shooting with Strus & Duncan Robinson, who is one of the best shooters in the league.

Thanks for asking.

When Portland inevitably faulters, perhaps at the deadline, Jerami Grant might become available.

Maybe then, Mia can piece together a decent enough offer to bolster their chances down the stretch and into the playoffs.

Saw a Portland fan on the T&T board try to get value for Nassir who is putting up decent shooting splits and per 36 stats.

He was one of my guys that draft and I'd be interested in seeing what he could do here.

To play what position? I haven't watched this year.

Can he guard up and handle guys 4 inches+ taller than his 6'5' height?

Can he switch and stay in front of PG's at the top of the key?

BTW, altough my Port prediction looks like poop at the moment, I still think they'll faulter at some point, so I'm unconvinced that Grant lasts the full season with them.

What are the Knicks getting out of this deal value wise?

I expanded it where the Knicks get a pick for taking on Duncan Robinson and Lowry:

Knicks trade: Randle, Fournier, Robinson, Mykhailiuk, and a 1st
Knicks get: Lowry, D.Robinson, Beverley, D.Jones, & two Miami 1st

Heat trade: Lowry, Duncan Robinson, Vincent, and two firsts
Heat get: Randle, Mitchell Robinson, Schroder, and Kendrick Nunn

Lakers trade: Beverley, Nunn, Schroder, and Damian Jones
Lakers get: Fournier, Mykhailiuk, Gabe Vincent, & an NY 1st

The Knicks get to rid themselves of Randle and Robinson, acquire another first round pick, unleash Toppin/Reddish/Simms, and get an older guy in Lowry who Grimes/Quickley can learn from and eventually beat out.

I think the value balances out with Miami sending better draft assets, but I don't think I'd give up firsts for Randle. I'd like Rose but not for a first.

I think if Miami was to give up picks they need to balance the roster better with a center like Myles Turner.

I took Rose out and replaced him with Mitchell Robinson.

The Heat give up two picks because they turn water into wine. They surrender Duncan Robinson and get Randle and Mitchell Robinson in return. They surrender Lowry and get Schroder and Nunn in return.

A move like this makes the Heat contenders:

PG - Herro - Schroder
SG - Oladipo - (Herro)
C - Robinson - (Adebayo)
PF - Adebayo - Randle
SF - Butler - Martin

My “blow it up” scenario:

Lewis/Hayes/Graham/Temple/Daniels/LAL1st - 23 & 24 for Jimmy/Gabe
- allows them to keep Jimmy/CJ/BI/Zion/Val as a starting unit, then Gabe/Jones/Murphy/Nance/Hernangomez off the bench, plus the inevitable ring chasing buy-outs.

If we’re trading Jimmy, we should try to get something for Lowry as well. There is one team with a big enough contract, a friend/fan of Lowry and desire to improve: the Nets!

Kyrie/27 Phi 1st/28 1st for Lowry/Temple
- they get a guy to play PG & solid back-up vet guard while saving $5.5m, it only costs them a guy they want gone & 2 picks. If they want to haggle over the two picks then fine, keep one but give us Thomas.

Our trade then becomes:
Jimmy/Lowry/Gabe for Graham/Lewis/Hayes/Daniels/Kyrie/LAL 23 & 24/PHI 27/BKN 28
- we’d have to cut a regular contract to get it done, or have a landing spot for one of the players straight away. We don’t land the single “replacement” to Jimmy, but in this deal we get a lot of quality picks and youth.
I would see us “keeping” Kyrie until after the deadline (no playing, just paid holiday - like we did with Waiters & JJ), then buying him out when it’s too late to really help the Lakers make the PO. We end up with two high level picks this year and possibly next, while getting some pieces that Spo may be able to use in the meantime. Kyrie’s expiring deal allows us to dodge the tax for even longer, without paying back to offload Duncan.
We can sign Strus/Yurt to deals that will be super trade fodder in 2 years - so between them & Robinson we have a heap of salary to swap for a complementary max-level player to go with our new core.

Graham/Lewis/Kyrie (IR)
Herro/Duncan/Dipo
Strus/Daniels
Caleb/Jovic
Bam/Hayes/Yurt

That’s a team set to tank, and doing this early will allow for Robinson & Graham to be showcased before the deadline & accrue more picks/assets.

Who is the max complementary player in 2 years? Give me some names.
