A Grantland.com story said that "right now" Oden's plan is to take next season off to rehab, then come back in 2013-14. But his agent, Mike Conley Sr., told us Oden is positioned be ready to play in December or January "as far as being effective and in shape" and will explore options in the coming months, with the possibility of joining a team next season. But nobody obviously can know for sure when he will be ready.

CJ Watson just became an unrestricted free agent. I think he would be a great pickup if he can be had for the money we have.

The thing that held him back was his weight and as a result his mobility, not his size. do you even watch Heat games? SMH.

Anyway Oden said he's taking the 2012-2013 season off, so no sense in sighing him now. Next year - why not.

I think Pat will wait and see what our guys have in them in Summer league before he adds another Vet min Center. Turiaf and Kenyon Martion are best options left, Kyrylo Fesenko is trash.

We already have Chalmers and Cole at PG. He won't get any PT because we're loaded at the guard position. Wade, Chalmers, Allen, Cole

Ian Mahinmi is still out there isn't he? I think he can be what we're looking for.

Maybe in standing reach, wingspan and hand size. Riley isn't an idiot, he kept him for a reason.

Depends on how much money he's demanding. He's getting more than the min.

Howard is pretty identical in standing reach and wingspan. Not that it matters because Howard knocked him on his ass during the regular season

If the Wiz amnesty Andray Blatche, I'd take a shot on him. I think the Heat would be a much better place for him to develop than Washington.

Does anyone else think that Barbosa would be a great pickup for us. I know we are loaded at G at this point, but we have been lacking someone other than Wade and Lebron to create for themselves. Unless Cole makes a tremendous improvement in the off season, I would love to see Barbosa to help out when we get stagnant.

If that were the case, I'd rather go after Delonte West. He's been a steal at the league min for the past couple seasons. But we're loaded at the guard position. Just go after one more big guy and we're more than set.

It doesn't even matter if he's a knucklehead. He's a talented player and he won't pass through the waivers. And even if he does, is he supposed to lose out on 10 million dollar contract by accepting our minimum deal? It's not happening

Edit: And why would Miami be a better place to develop than Washington? Washington is in a development mode. Miami is in win now mode. Just an ignorant post all around

He's a headcase no doubt, BUT, can you think of anyone better suited to straighten him up then a team with LBJ, DWADE and Riley?

He's only 25. he has the size and the skill. i would look into it, see if Pat feels he can turn his career around.

They said the same thing about Beasley being here. Look how that turned out.
