Need to get multiple big men that can shoot the 3 and play with Bam this offseason. Need to rekindle the KO and Leonard with Bam dynamic once again. Will be pumping getting Porzingis in the offseason as a start since he would seem to be the most obtainable. You bring back Love as a placeholder until Jovic is ready to take over as the backup 4.

I’m with DOM, we could very easily fall to the 5th best odds in the draft lottery if we really wanted to. That would be HUGE. Better than anything we’ll get playing in the play in tourney.

You get a building block for the future or you get a damn good pick to move for a star and go all in next season

Let it be known to the doubters over a tough little stretch who want to dump Bam and rebuild around a 34 year old, although elite Jimmy Butler who is top 10 in the league when he wants to be.

Bam was better at 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, and now 25. I don’t see that changing

Trade rumors cracked the locker room. Every player but Bam and Jimmy were being shopped and they all knew it from the summer to the deadline. The energy and vibe from this team was off since training camp - too many different agendas. Lowry officially broke the locker room in Jan - he’s been the opposite of professional to the team. Real mess behind the scenes. It’s going to be crazy when they finally break up and it all leaks out. Can’t remember situation worse with a Heat player of this magnitude.

I personally see 3 scenarios out of this mess:

1 - pray for a Beal, Paul George, DeRozan type acquisition to reload with Butler and Bam

2 - 76ers fizzle out and Harden goes back to Houston. Embiid traded for Bam

3 - sucks to say but time to rebuild and gear up for summer 2026. Move Jimmy for assets this summer. I don’t know if Riley could ever do it but the Knicks have the contracts and young assets to make it work + JB loves NYC. If not look at Memphis, New Orleans, etc. Summer of 2026 class is BIG - Tatum, Mitchell, Fox, etc. Lots of Bam’s boys are FA that summer. You treat it like 2010 and go for gold.

Weird spot but you can’t be mad over the 4 year run this team had. 1 finals appearance and 1 ECF. 25+ other teams wish they had any bit of that success the last 4 years. Now time to rebuild and do it again.

Bam will never be as good as prime Jimmy butler

Pipe dream that he will one day be a franchise player.

At best, Bam is the Robin to a team’s Batman.

Contrary to some fans belief, he’s not even there quite yet.

2 wont happen. 3 is the most realistic. 1 is our best shot. Out of the players in list 1, Beal is the only one that makes any sense and might be attainable but it wont be cheap. Something like Lowry + Herro + Jovi + 3 unprotected first round draft picks and a few swaps. That would give us Beal, Bam and Butler. Maybe we can rehabilitate Duncan or wait out his next 3 years until he has value as an expiring. The only problem i see is that we will be paying the tax which is something we are adverse to doing.

Yes Dipo scoring wise has struggled. But defensively he is still playing at a highlevel. Offensively that is why its important to have Herro and Yurt in this unit to have the offense built around them. In hopes Dipo offense picks up you have Yurt as a pick n pop/roll big which is the type of offense that Dipo excells in.

Tank for the 5th best odds In the lottery. If you have the ability to lane Victor, scoot and MAYBE Miller then take it but if not that pick could be the difference in a Lillard or some other star deal.

Barry Jackson has been saying Miami is basically waiting and needs for a star to demand their way to Miami, I agree

Something people arent bringing up about stars asking to come here is this. These guys have agents and experts that give them advice on what teams could benefit them. Now think rationally and unbiased, about what an NBA agent would tell you about going to the Miami Heat as it pertains to the GM ability to build a competative team. Do they have tradeable assets that can be used to make trades to help the team. Do they have draft capital to attached additionally to make solids reinforcements if needed. Do they have quality pieces already there from the 5-9 man that will help build a solid foundation.
