He's a headcase no doubt, BUT, can you think of anyone better suited to straighten him up then a team with LBJ, DWADE and Riley?

He's only 25. he has the size and the skill. i would look into it, see if Pat feels he can turn his career around.

They said the same thing about Beasley being here. Look how that turned out.

What did Beasley do here that was classed as a knucklehead? Sure he didnt blossom like you expect out of a #2 pick but to say he didnt care or didnt put in the effort, thats a different story.

i haven't heard much re: kaman and kenyon martin...

wish list:
1. rashard
2. kenyon
2. antwan

i don't think kaman and carl landry are realistic targets unless we give up joel + cole (which riley does not seem to want to do).

i really don't want anyone else right now. we can always pick up an athletic wing on the cheap if jones and/or miller call it quit.

I'd love to take Antwan if Lewis doesnt work. Even if Lewis does come, adding another wing man who spreads the floor for LeBron and Wade can never hurt.

We don't need another wing. We're set at the wing positions. We just need another big.

Ethan J. Skolnick ‏@EthanJSkolnick

Primary attainable names haven't changed for Heat since start of FA: Allen, Camby, Lewis, Hill. 1 in, 1 out, 2 still on the board.

If we can't get Lewis, Hill would be a good pickup. He'd be a great fit in the locker room and he can still contribute, he's not the stretch 4 like Lewis but he fits in to what this team wants to do in terms of creating versatile line ups. He can handle the ball, slash, and he guards positions 2-4. I remember him putting the clamps on Blake Griffin and really frustrating him. I could theoretically see him in a Ron Harper with the Bulls kind of role here.

Personally I'd rather have Hill than Lewis. I think Hill will go to Lakers but it'd be funny if he agreed here whilst Lewis dicked around.

i'd be good with either or both. grant hill could be really useful to keep lebron's minutes down to 34-36 during the regular season. i see battier as a stretch 4 now, he was tremendous in that role in the playoffs but was very underwhelming at the 3 guarding kd, granger and melo.

In Battier's defense 2 out of those 3 guys you named are elite scorers, it's not that he played poorly against Melo he just hit some incredibly good shots. But the more versatile players this team has the better

I love me some Grant Hill, but we are pretty stacked at the wings.

I really dont see where are the minutes for all these names. the only way it will make sense to get Both Hill and Lewis is we move Bosh to Center FULL TIME and play small ball all the time.

Mario/Cole
Wade/Allen
LBJ/Hill
Lewis/Battier/Haslem
Bosh/Pittman/Joel

And even then it means very little minutes to Battier, Hill and Haslem. i dont see it happning. just too much wings and not enough size.

It's Hill OR Lewis, or neither. Not Hill AND Lewis

there's more to it than that. when guarded by battier, melo and kd would often go for a hard dribble toward the basket and elevate for a balanced jumper in rythm. against lebron those same moves resulted in a stepback fadeaway with a hand in their face. the difference seems trivial but it's actually crucial. they knew that battier had to concede a good look from midrange in order to not get blown by and that's just simply not good enough to contain elite scorers.

I guess the question is - who will we take first, Hill or Lewis? it's tricky for 2 reasons :

1.Hill was better these last couple of years but he's **** 40 years old. unbelieable. Lewis is 33.
2.Lewis used to play PF, not sure if Grant can do that. espically at his age.

Who would you take if we get to choose?

I take Lewis.

Hill would be stuck in a logjam. Hill can play SG/SF..... we have Wade, Allen, LeBron, Battier, Jones.... Hill would barely get playing time. If Hill still wants to come and get whatever minutes we give him so that he can win a ring, then fine.

Meanwhile, Lewis can play the stretch 4. He's 6'10 in height and has a jumper.

Wade
Allen
LeBron
Lewis
Bosh

Both Lewis and Bosh can stretch the defense with perimeter shooting. It would be hell to guard this Heat team if Lewis regains some of his stroke.

I love Hill, but we could use Rashard more.
