I do not think anyone thinks the Heat are title favorites. At least very least you want to be in the battle. Unforseen things can happen like it did with the Raptors in 2019 or the Heat last season.Bishop45 wrote:dean456 wrote:RexBoyWonder wrote:
We have our own problems to worry about.
Biggest one is not having more then 1 consistent big on a 17 players roster.
Surprisingly we are currently 6th in opponent FG% and 7th in opponents ppg and 1st in paint points allowed.
We are however 21st in opponent 3pt%, 29th in opponents points from 3pt shots 30th in turnovers. We definitely could use more rebounding but other than that our interior defense actually hasn't been that bad.
Last season we were 6th in the league in opponent 3pt%. However we were only 24th in opponents points from 3pt shots but they also scored 7 less points on 3's than they have been so far this season. Our 3pt offense has also been letting us down, last year we were 4th in 3pt% so far this season we are 20th.
We need our guards to be better on both sides of the ball. Our 3pt% off/def and turnovers have been the most glaring issues so far this season.
One bright spot however is if you look at the numbers over the last 3 games the team has looked better in all these numbers by quite a large margin so its possible they might have figured it out, however its more likely its just us versing the Wizards and Knicks over the last 3 games.
I think if the org is going to trade for anyone and are seeing these numbers then I think they'll be looking for a PG who's a better perimeter defender, that can run the offense and protect the ball and shoot the 3 ball at a high rate and a high percentage and to me that's likely Lowry.
Yea', I feel like not having another big is more of a superficial issue than our biggest, imo. I think our biggest issue is not having enough talent to win, then pg/wing depth
Bam is still evolving before our eyes. Herro has taken a step back which some in here snap on me for suggesting he might take a step back. This could be a senerio where Herro takes one step back and two step fwd.
However because of Bam evolution, Heats needs are evolving as well. Heat ceiling is probably higher this year than last. If the Heat can find that right glue guy again like they did in Crowder, they be very dangerous team again. Not favorites but dangerous to upset teams again.
