To Heat - Marcus Smart, Santi Aldama
To Grizzlies - Clint Capela (expiring, can let Edey adjust), Bogdan Bogdanovic
To Hawks - Tyler Herro, Brandon Clarke, 2026 2nd from Heat
I'd do this, but I think the Hawks pass (unless they had another trade lined up to move Young. Imagine the "defense" of a Herro/Young backcourt
Also, I think Memphis would balk at this without ever giving the Morant/Smart backcourt a shot.

They don’t need Herro and his 30 million next to Trae and they don’t need to trade Trae for Herro and other pieces we have either.
They are rumored to be interested in moving off of Hunter.
And up and down their lineup, ATL pretty much has depth at every position so it’s more complicated projection to say that they have Bogdon already thus they probably aren’t interested in Herro.
Herro is better than Bogdon and has the greater upside so there’s that.
Unless they trade Hunter for picks to a cap space team, which there are only a few remaining, they are gonna have to take back salary and deal with the positional clutter that they are faced with if in fact they are determined to move Hunter.
He's not better than Bogdan , Bogdan got a 7 foot plus wingpsan/strong as hell meaning much better defender and a way better passer/pick n roll player and he has no upside due to his physical limitations/limited IQ. Shooting is about the same other than that Bogdan superior in every aspect aside from chucking I guess.
Bogdan is 7.5 years older than Herro and will be 32 in August. So if we're actually having a discussion about upside it certainly doesn't favor the role player who is past his prime. For all his limitations it is very interesting that people have decided a 24 year old NBA player has no path to get better. And it really has alot to do with the fact that Herro has been a contributor since his rookie year. So you've seen him for 5 seasons and think he's tapped out. I'll place my bets on the player years away from his prime as opposed to the guy past his.

Heat could do the funniest thing getting Kuzma

Kuzmas contract is NICE. Descending value and locked up for 3 years. 6'9" SF good size, does a little bit of everything, plays about 68 games per season so decently reliable. Only clear downside to his game is he's a career 33.7% 3pt shooter, thought it'd be closer to 36-37%. He'd be a great 4th banana on a team. Contracts like that are what get you wins and deep in playoffs with this new CBA.

Spot on.
I haven’t watched him a ton in Wash but if he were on Mia, he’d likely see a major uptick in wide open looks from 3 which should increase his %.
A deal to get him wouldn’t be the cleanest exchange because they are highly unlikely to take Herro with Poole already on the team. Therefore, Mia would have to include either Rozier or Duncan. If they trade Rozier, it poses a problem for Mia in not having a competent ball handler in their backcourt.
They could maybe offer Duncan and Niko for Kuz. Might have to throw in another pick/ swap sweetener though.
My idea was to offer all 3 (Rozier, Duncan, and Niko - probably also a pick/ swap sweetener) for Kuzma and Tyus. Per SNT rules though it would need to be 2 separate transactions but effectively it’d be one big trade.

If you want to trade for Kuzma you better trade Herro to avoid that TMZ locker room dynamic. I also don’t want our stadium walk ins to turn into a clown show runway with the way those two dress. Just keep Niko damnit we don’t need no Kuzma here

Heats lack of pursuit of a point guards leds me to believe Herro is expected to play point again

Maybe it's just me, but I preferred it when Rapaz was imitating our opponents rather than our own posters!

Unless the player Miami sent a 1st and big expiring for just 6 months ago is the point guard, the trade is an even bigger mistake by the FO if Rozier isn't starting.
I'm expecting Rozier and Herro starting, good luck covering that up Bam. Maybe Miami is done playing man to man defense or just embracing zone defense more?

Herro and Rozier in the backcourt is an unstoppable offensive* force. The Godfather’s plan is unadulterated perfection.

The people demanded positivity. And they are getting it.
Just don’t forget to clown on Pat as soon as the outlandish expectations don’t pan out.

It looks like the FO is clearing out defensive players in favor of offensive players.
Average and better defensive players on the roster, Bam, Butler and Richardson.
Players who are probably below average defenders? Everyone but those previous 3.

They tried to keep Martin according to reporting and Highsmith returning is still a possibility.
But in general, I think there is a lack of a clear vision in terms of style of play, timeline, type of personnel etc
