Not to short change Jimmy, but I remember a whole lot of that era hinging on what version of Duncan showed up.

You could point to peak Jimmy too ..but you could also say Herro, Caleb and Bam carried parts of that run too

Does it really matter? If its true Jimmy comes across like a sociopath, if its a lie he still comes across like a sociopath manipulating the media.

Its bizarre either way and I don't think its something that helps his cause or public perception. Honestly fans are pretty accepting of guys going for money nowadays (look at the NIL), if he just made it clear it was about money, besides initial backlash I think it would have been less drama all around and he'd come out looking better.

I couldn’t care less tbh I just find it funny. This forum believes every little report until it shows Pat in a certain light and then it’s just all fabricated BS. Like how shams made up the Jimmy stuff to try and get ahead of the scoop and because Woj wasn’t here to challenge him any more

Oh come on, everyone has their biases, I'd say at least 30-40% of this board hates Pat and wants him gone due to his age or various reasons. Meanwhile in my short stint back I already know you will set fire to anyone who dares criticize our lord and savior Bam Adebayo (its ok I love Bam too but you gotta own that). We all got our biases.

Man I am not arguing that little girl 5th grade level gossip sh*t with you. Butler the one going around wearing color weave in his hair of other teams that he want attention for.

Oh for sure, if I see completely outlandish Bam nonsense like he’s Clint Capela, Joel Anthony, etc I will normally comment on it but majority of those guys only post when he struggles so they’ve been awfully quiet lately. and yes I’m one of those that would prefer fresh blood in the FO. I don’t think the 80 year old is fit for the job any more, nothing wrong with that Father Time is undefeated in every aspect (although he’s fighting his toughest battle against LeBron right now).

I have been loyal to Heat and Pat Riley since hes been on the Heat, and i never got involved with the disrespect some Heat fans have towards Riley. We won 3 championships and had six appearances. There are a handful of teams who have been as successful as the Heat the last 25 years and a large credit goes to Riley.

I would like for him to seriously consider retirement after this season. It’s time to hand full reigns to Spo or Alonzo, or whoever they feel can continue the culture of the Heat.

Its not just the Jimmy Butler stuff, **** Jimmy Butler. It’s just we need a new fresh vision.

Zo is a Riley disciple. New "face" of the FO, sure. Different vision? Unlikely, the ethos are going to remain the same no matter who is the figurehead

I'm curious to see if Davion's shooting gets unlocked here.

He shot 45% from 3 his junior year of college. now that's obviously quite ridiculous but his last 2 years were right at 36%. That's not terrible by any means. If he can even get to 38% on a low volume, he would become such a key piece off the bench for us.

Isn’t college line almost a foot shorter? Wouldn’t read so much into that.

I’m going to call bs on this.

The 2020 finals run:
Goran was the leading scorer. He was absolutely ballin that playoff run.
Duncan was absolutely unguardable for that playoff run.
AI and Jae Crowder had big defensive moments and big shots
Bam had some big moments, including the block on Tatum
Jimmy had 2 finals games where he was a beast, but he had help.

The 2023 finals run:
Jimmy had that ridiculous Bucks series where he went crazy and then he pretty much fell off the rest of the playoff run.
Gabe Vincent and Max Strus were on fire
Caleb Martin should have been the ECF finals MVP. He had a better series than Jimmy.

He didn’t have name help of a star player, but he had players that were absolutely playing way above their level and were heavily contributing.

Return to Miami Heat
