I'm sorry but this would be player power gone mad.

Can't fans see that in the end it'll kill the NBA?

Sad for Raps. Surprised at Kawhi if true.

Just had a read, they are all wrapped up in conspiracy theories about everything the Lakers are doing. Trying to convince themselves that the front office stuff with Magic, Pelinka and Gennie make them look bad so Kawhi would never go there. LA's in their heads

This doesn't feel like a Kawhi move going to LAL, but since Kawhi left SA it seems as if Uncle Dennis is calling the shots for him. Probably convincing him that he's made his legacy and has nothing left to prove, he's beaten two super teams led by Bron and Curry/KD and now its time to put himself more in the spotlight to get his paper.

It's funny how America is free market to everything expert when it comes to players. Players for 7 years don't have a choice where they go. When they finally get a choice ya'll get let them go when they want to. It ain't a power grab being able to choose where you work.

dude, kawhi can do whatever he pleases, that's for sure but the fact that he's leaving to join cabron and to form a super team doesnt sit well with many fans.because for one,it will weaken the east even more, for second him leaving would be like throwing the middle finger to the city and franchise that welcomed him, third,it cheapens the overall NBA product because people will have less incentive to watch(except faker fans)since all the top talent would be on one team and on the west coast.just think about it....

4th,whether in toronto or in LA kawhi will still be getting paid more than the average american blue collar worker (no matter the race or sex mind you) so dont worry he will have his millions to enjoy...as is,just last finals saw a drop in NBA viewership because fans are getting tired of the same ole shenanigans...people want their teams to at least have a shot for a championship and the way the current NBA is structured and played is not allowing for teams to just do that...the whole thing is unbalanced as hell

If Kawhi joins Lakers people will turn in. It would be like the Heat, people will want them to lose but they will watch. Viewership didn't drop the big 3 era and the 1st couple seasons of the Durant Warriors. It dropped last 2 years, and last year had a lot to do with Bron moving West and missing playoffs.
Regardless if the NBA doesn't want superteams, there's a fix to these superteams. The problem is you can fit 3 max salaries under the cap. If you increase it or get rid of it entirely there will be no more super teams. It's the NBA rules that make these superteams possible.

These players that want to go to Los Angeles and team up with Lebron better know that it’s Lebrons team not theirs . I know that AD and Kiwi Leonard are use to be the “ main man “ of their team but not in this case. As long as Lebron is there , it will always be his team no matter how old Lebron is

Very true. Let the market determine the max a player should receive.

I also think player options/team options aren’t healthy for the nba. Superstar players hold a team’s feet to the fire and make decisions against the long term health of the team. Likewise for players with team options, they may try to come back too early from injury due to a team potentially cancelling the team option. If you sign a contract, it should be a commitment for both sides of the deal.
