Dragic, Waiters, JJ for Paul, Gallo, our two first round picks.

Winslow, Olynyk, 2 first rounders for Beal.

Paul / Beal / Jimmy / Gallo / Bam

That's a contender in the East right now.

Winslow has to keep shooting and hopefully learn how to get to the line like he did in College.

DJJ should practice getting the ball on the floor, otherwise keep shooting and stop trying to hurt himself for dunk highlites

Its a big year for a Bam. Of every player on the roster he probably has the most decisive advantage every night at his position in terms of physical tools but it means nothing if it doesnt show up on offense. I want to see some 18 & 10 nights where the points arent all dunks.

[ESPN] Wojnarowski: "The market for CP3 is small, but Miami is at the top of that list. [OKC] would like to get that deal done as soon as they can. Their hope, in getting this deal done with Chris Paul, was that he doesn't play a game in a Thunder uniform."

LoL

That's not a contender in the East that's probably a 5 seed.

Found this snippet on Larry Coon's FAQ:

Interestingly, there is no mechanism to notify the league that an option or ETO will not be exercised. Teams and players might want to do this in order to make the player tradable after the season ends but before July 1 (see question number 101), or because the player wants to be traded to a team which does not want the player if he might become a free agent. As described in question number 60, under these circumstances the team and player can mutually amend the contract to remove the option or ETO. A contract can be amended like this with the condition that the trade must be completed within 48 hours, otherwise the amendment is canceled.

Not that Pro Am is anything worth analyzing, but he was definitely getting his shots up there. At the end of the day, Spo decides where Bam gets his touches in the flow of the offense. Bam needs to get the green light to be more aggressive himself on the handoffs and look for buckets and to square up against his defender and make a play, much like bosh did. We need to get him on the Bosh game plan!

I've been saying it since rookie year, just shoot the ball. The Pro Am doesnt mean much because we saw him doing the same in his pre-draft workout. Got to do it in live game action, he's passed up a lot of open looks these first two years, thats more confidence than coaching. Those have to turn into field goals attempted this year.

Some of you guys are sounding like Knicks fans. Why would OKC give the Heat everything they got from Houston? What was the point of OKC trading Westbrook to Houston and not Miami, if they gonna have the same players in return?

I think essentially, OKC is willing to give the Heat Chris Paul alone for what the Heat offered for Westbrook.

Ira Winderman was on 560 saying we could get “multiple” first-round picks for Chris Paul, which means we will give up a pick to do it.

Chris Paul is 4 years older than Westbrooke and a worse player ... exchanging contracts isn't even fair value my man.

Chris Paul is a better player than Dragic, a better engineer of an offense. The question for me is how much better? We can potentially have Dragic off our hands by the end of the year, does the ceiling of this team with CP drastically change enough to sacrifice cap flexibility over the next few summers? Can you luck up into a Finals run next year with a Paul/Butler + youngins core? I'm also asking this under the pretext that its CP3 and CP3 alone, we don't have the assets to accumulate another star player via trade unless some of these rookies prove themselves and garner value.

And why should we want to do that? Especially considering that they were asking for young players. Not even for a combo of our expiring deals would it make sense for us. If that is what they are thinking then they can find another team to trade with. That contract is now their problem, not ours.

I think Presti realised the market for Westbrook wasn’t going to net him anything. Houston were desperate and wanted Paul off their roster so they offered two picks for that bad contract.

So Presti knew Miami wasn’t willing to give any assets for Russ but could net two future picks from
Houston, which are years in advance so they can be anything.

I think Presti has gambled here knowing our picks will likely be between 20-30 mark both years so he will be happy to hand one of them back, most likely the protected pick in 2023. Effectively he will have sacrificed one of our picks to get two of Houston’s.

Come on Wade, if you’re gonna recruit your brother to Miami, tell him to amend his contract to change his player option...

If this gets done, the deal will be basically Dragic and James Johnson or Waiters, Johnson and Leonard.

I am fine with no Westbrook, just a bad fit and albatros contract. I like the current roster, and would just love to add an Athletic Stretch 4 sniper like Kuzma...there are also a few available servicable free agents I like in George Hill, Lance Thomas...or some indrafted stretch 4 gem, if we build aroung winslow, butler, bam we are going to need shooters...

I would be very pleased with a Roster similar to this:

Winslow - Dragic - Hill
Hero - Waiters - Nunn
Butler - DJJ - Okpala
Kuzma - JJ - Thomas
Bam - Olynik - Leonard

I said what the Heat were willing to offer. Heat were not willing to give up young players. If OKC is willing to take that for Paul then they got exactly what they wanted for Westbrook two young players (draft picks from Houston) and fillers on shorter deals (from Miami)
