Think of the Harden package that till this day we still get chit for but in the end we just didn’t have the picks and we still don’t. If they play it right they may be able to engage the Cavs in a three way trade for Sexton. I mean i would’t even rule out Simmons and picks going to the Blazers for him. Some actually think a trade of Dragic,Iguodala, Herro and Achuiwa gets deal done

Can we gets tons of Sex, Panda? I've been a fan ever since 3 vs 5. Love those crazy eyes.

See, I wasn't even being slick (even though y'all tried to convince me that we could invest in the kids and compete for a chip last yr)

What I was trying to say was, all is not lost, but we need to let go of this idea of saving this core. Upgrades should've been the focus last offseason, this offseason needs to be redemption/rebuild. We still have great assets (Bam, Herro, Duncan, Jimmy, and a few dudes with potential), now is the time to cash before anything depreciates (But we won't, cause politics)

I was fine with waiting for this offseason. 2021 was a really great offseason for FAs. Then...it wasn't. If you knew every single FA would re-up before this offseason hit, then that's great man. Great prognostication.

In hindsight, sure we should have traded for CP3, signed Crowder, signed Wood. Done all the moves we didn't.

Now, it's imperative we hit a couple home runs in the trade market, or we missed our window. That's the reality now.

Waiting a whole season to make a move was always a crazy gamble imo, especially with two of our best players on the other side of 30

Riley is always shooting for the stars. I can't fault him for it. The guy is a dreamer. It's worked sometimes. Last season it failed miserably.

What would Bish do this offseason?

The only reason we’d be on his list is to for a Big-3 with Jimmy/Bam.

But without putting Bam on the table we won’t have the assets to get him. Even then it’s a Bam/Herro/pick type deal.

Can we get another all-star level big with something based around Iggy/Dragic? We won’t have anything else of value left, so it’s likely only a player like KP.

If Dame/Robinson/Jimmy/KP/Dedmon with Nunn/Dipo/Ariza/Precious enough in the East? My hunch is no, but we can resign Ariza/Bjelica to bigger deals with the idea of trading them for the next disgruntled

If I had a line on the Heat's cell then I could get specific

I'd look for a young #1 option on the way out; Towns/Sexton or a good pick in this or future draft. I don't care who it takes to trade to get it.

Hell if a package of Jimmy/Bam/Herro and pieces could get us Sexton/Towns, I would do it. Hell, I'd take Simmons/Sexton. If we could get Jaylen Brown...

We have the capital to get some proven young folks, do it.

The spacing Jimmy would have playing with a Dame/Robinson backcourt would be something else.

Defensively there would be some questions but if you add some 3 and D wings the scoring output from those 3 plus our roleplayers should be enough to outweigh the defensive deficiencies.

Ideally you'd want to keep Bam aswell but if it takes Bam to do that and you can replace him with someone who can also space the floor its kind of a no brainer.

Bam, Herro, and salary filler for Dame and maybe DJJ.

Then make a pitch to Kawhi. If it fails, quickly pivot to Jarret Allen.

Wonder if there's any way we try to do this and free up our picks to flip all of it to Portland for Dame without having to include Bam?

Have Wall replace Dame in the short term, they also get #2 pick plus all our futures to start their rebuild. Then they can also try to flip Wall and CJ McCollum for more assets?

Is this possible?

Trade Bam, Herro, etc. to Portland for Dame

Then do a S&T with the Clippers for Kawhi involving Nunn, Precious, Dragic, Iggy

Dame
Robinson
Butler
Kawhi
???

Zion being the über Gen-Z and wanting success straight away. He has the Pelicans by the short & curries, and if they think getting him an All-NBA running mate will make him happy then they Frankenstein the **** out of their rebuild!

Ultimately, he probably still leaves at some point, but if this gets them through his first extension then it’s worth it for them & their brand/bottom line.

Return to Miami Heat
