I almost forgot about that 2.9Mil we get from Miller being hurt. No doubt we could bring Turiaf back for that kind of money. but i hope a better option pops up

Mahinmi, Kwame Brown, and Turiaf

Only possible guys I would consider

Mahinmi made ~900,000 last year so it's possible he would accept a 1 year/2.9 mil.

the problem is - players want a multi-year contracts. im not sure a young guy will take a one year deal like that. but Mahinmi i think could be an awesome pick up.

Yeah, that's the problem. If it was 3 yrs./ 8.7 million, great. But the only way I see him taking a one year deal is if he's thinking "I'll start for the heat and hopefully win a championship, and when I enter FA teams will pay me 'championship center' money."

But, I do think Kwame and Turiaf would accept that deal. Kwame accepted a one year deal last year too

Im having a hard time figuring out why is Riley going after John Lucas III?

Maybe he thinks he can send Cole + the Philly pick to Dallas and get back Mahinmi in a S&T?

I'm cool with Kwame. He is a excellent post defender.

Riley might be trying to grab JL3 as security. If Cole or Rio go down, Spo won't have to lean on Wade and Bron so hard? That's the only thing I can think of.

Thinking about Lucas rationally, I understand why we'd target him over some other FA PGs. He's a tenacious defender, good ball-handler, can get hot from 3, and shoots fearlessly. He's a chucker, but most spark plug players like him are chuckers. I'm fine with him as a 3rd PG, but not as the primary backup. PEACE.

What about DeSagana Diop??...he is a strong body...although very limited offensively he is able to play solid defense..

You're crazy, Joel is better then Diop.

I guess getting John Lucas III in case Rio or Cole goes down makes sense. but when you think about it, if we could get Mahinmi in a S&T for Cole and the Philly pick..it might not be such a bad idea.

HELL NO, what the ****....

Joel's better than him and he was that scrub center on the 06 mavs. **** that guy. If I wanted one of Dallas's old scrub centers I'd resign erika dampier.

I gotta be honest...I don't want Raja bell, or grant hill, or john lucas 3, or mahini. The only players id be interested now is bringing back Turiaf, or Antawn Jamison, other than that, I am not interested in anyone else we are currently hearing about. if someone else comes out of the blue, that'd be great

I think we should round out the roster with T Harris and another C. And Varnado as a long shot addition.

Joel Pryzbilla--33 next season....averages about 4 and 8 per 36. But injury problems.

Nazr Mohammed--35 next season.....averages about 9 and 9 per 36. Didn't get into the Thunder's playoff rotation at all.

Ian Mahinmi--26 next season....11 and 9 per 36. No idea if he's considered out of our price range or not.

Kwame Brown--31 next season....11 and 11 per 36. Played in 9 games last season. No idea why.

Alonzo Mourning--43 next season...14 and 9 per 36. I still feel like he could average 5 blocks a game in 10 minutes per game.

I'd be happy with any of these guys. They've all got above decent defensive low-post and rebounding skills.

Bigs that we might be able to get with Miller's disabled player exception for 2.9Mil $ per 1 year :

1.Ronny Turiaf
2.Kwame Brown
3.Kenyon Martin
4.Brendan Haywood (if gets amnestied)
5.Darko (if gets amnestied)
6.Joel Przybilla
7.Jordan Hill (not likely)

I would totally be fine with resigning Turiaf

But let's not get ahead of ourselves, we don't even know if we'll get the exception yet

Return to Miami Heat
