Agree with most of this, but KZ aint going anywhere

He's under contract for next season, so he may be ... depending on how much space Pat wants to have available. It's only for $1,782,621 but Pat may empty out the roster of everyone not named Jimmy Butler for free agency 2012.

‘Heat lifer’ ain’t gonna pay your bills in retirement. You gotta do what you gotta do.

Wonder what DJJ's role will be in Portland? Added Covington and Kanter and re-signed Melo and Hood. They are pretty deep at the 3 and 4 now.

In the end, playing in the NBA is just a job. It's a way to improve your situation and feather your nest. Players should be 100% as cold in business as teams are.

If he were a lifer, he'd have worked with us on the contract. Instead, he's in Phoenix. He was a nice utility guy for us, but let's not get carried away. He was just a utility guy...

Heat offered him 14M 1 year, he choosed 3yearx 10M, did not bet on him self, pretty sure he would have made more staying or leaving after the 1 year. Phoenix is cool, but Lakers will crush them...

Them “HEAT lifer” deals would totally pay for my retirement bills. It’s not like they were offering him pocket change.

I do not see it as them trashing Jae... but more of them rationalizing his choice. These are the same people who understood and expressed advanced sympathy in the choice he had in front of him. Either he valued length of contract and it’s definite prolonged financial security, or he valued the Culture and showed trust in getting his in due time with the added perk of an upfront bloated instant gratification type of financial deal for his troubles.

It is what it is. He chose what he wanted and we do not fault him for it. We all would be split too given the choice. Most of us would choose his route of greater secured pay day in the long run. But again, let’s not paint it as someone being asked for that chump change to take a shorter deal. He was being compensated for it with a greater up front deal.

A bird in the hand and all that. Much better players have gotten burned waiting on that "we'll take care of you" deal.

I think Tyler will get better this year... Imagine coming to practice and having Avery Bradley, Jimmy and Mo Harkless guard you every time

So can we sigh Nicholas Batum then? If we split the MLE between Avery Bradley and Moe Harkless, we should still have the BAE to use for Batum.

1st team/2nd team/Backups/Coach
SG Herro/Bradley/Nunn
PG Butler/Dragic/Vincent
SF Robinson/Okapala/Iggy
PF Harkless/Olynk/Silva/Haslem
C Adebayo/Achua/Leonard

While there is no exciting upgrade, it should be a better team than last year. Dragic is the only guy who might be worse than last year. Harkless might occasionally be overmatched at the 4.... really wish Bree could have had a regular offseason with our s&t team. But upside is relying on growth from Bam, Herro, Duncan, okapala, and achua. Nunn too though i think he won’t get many predictable minutes unless we have an injury

Just checked his stats, what the hell happened to him last season? He's only 31 lol
