AirP. wrote:The change at this time is because ownership changed in the middle of the offseason, so the new ownership waited until the offseason was basically over before making the change. Hopefully for Timberwolves fans this next POBO is there long term for stability, the last owner who was just horrible kept making changes every few years which kept the team from really moving forward to being a good team.

That fence isn't getting mended, Towns tried and and in the end probably got Thibodeau fired who Butler loves, it's actually the reason I believe Butler forced his way out. If you remember, the next year when Butler got to Miami he had Thibodeau as a guest in Miami...
Towns wants to win on HIS terms, he'd never fit in Miami.

True. But at some point he has to realize that it's not working. And the one season he was with Butler they almost made playoffs till Butler got hurt. We know there's back channelling in the NBA. If KATs people got word to Riley and was like I want to win and I will go all in on Heat culture. Then Riley could talk to Butler and make it work.
Now there were rumors that split involved a girl, if that was the case then 0 % chance

“I just don’t think there have been many people that have understood how important winning is to me, man,’’ Butler told the Sun-Times in late April. “I just had a conversation about that very thing with somebody — not important who — but I put so much into this game, and I only play to win.”
It’s possible Butler could change his mind if the Timberwolves were to trade Towns — a move ownership is said to be highly against — or if Towns proved to Butler he isn’t “Amish-like,’’ as Towns described himself during a losing first-round playoff series against the Rockets.

Coach Tom Thibodeau has a strong relationship with Butler, but Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor didn’t help things in April, telling a Minneapolis radio show that Butler would be a key in recruiting players this summer. That led to Butler’s agent, Bernie Lee, firing back, “That’s not Jimmy’s role.”

I don't care how closely you've followed them on the internet, you don't know Jimmy or Towns

You're right, I don't know Butler or Towns, but I can go with what they say in interviews, I can also make a leap of faith that reporters' who have credibility also give out valid information, but of course, throw out all the info from reporters who's job it is to give out info if it's info that leads to a player you like being an issue because you can stamp "hearsay" on it without giving any consideration to the validity of the information.
Me following players/teams as much as I do is also why I've been a Butler for years. Even before, during and after all the stories of Butler being a toxic teammate, digging deeper, even on the internet, can give you more information on the subject.
