We need to figure out whatever cap voodoo we need to do to keep Mitchell. I don't think there has ever been a more "Heat Culture" player. At this point, I wouldn't even mind starting him next to Herro for the foreseeable future. Dude might be able to rival UD's level of Heat Culture in time.

1. Mitchell is 100% a keeper. Just don't overpay, we have matching rights. The guy is the type of dog you want on your team - despite not having enough offensive talent to be a starting PG IMO. But a great guard to bring off the bench on a small contract.

2. I want NOTHING to do with old man KD. The guy is way too old, way too bitchy, and not what a young team needs to build around in any way.

Our entire focus should be to add a young/ish scorer that might be able to expand his game here with a bigger role. Think of Mavs Brunson, or OKC Harden, or Wizards Avdija, or OKC Giddy.

2 names I'd want to take a gamble on :

1) Quentin Grimes - free agent that looked great on a lead role this year in Philly. 24 YO.

2) Bennedict Mathurin - 22 YO, natural athletic scorer playing on a team that isn't trying to maximize him and might not want to pay him going forward.

I didn't know cap was not sufficient for Mitchell... He needs to stay here.

There's a Laker's fan on the general board trying to tell me how much sense it makes for both teams for Miami to trade Bam for KD haha!

That's insane

The one player I would consider moving Bam for that might be available this offseason is Giannis that's it that's the list

I would talk to the Bulls and inquire about Giddey.

Might not cost the farm and if he is doing that on the Bulls, imagine what Spo could get out of him.

Giddey (6'8"), Mitchell (6'0")
Herro (6'5"), Larson (6'5")
Jovic (6'11"), Jaquez (6'6")
Bam (6'9"), Anderson (6'9")
Ware (7'0"), GSW Pick???

Tall, lengthy team with shooting, and finally a PG that can get Ware and Bam lobs all day. Force Herro to be an off-ball bomber, set the table for everyone, and be a nightly triple-double threat. We'd have everything we need for a high-passing, high-IQ, free-flowing offense. I wonder what it would take to interest the Bulls.

This Jimmy vs KD stuff is nuts to me.... I wanted Jimmy to stay here like UD for the next decade, but I just do not see those two guys as comparable.

KD to me is a solid tier above JB....easily.

You gotta quit bro....

It is too early in the morning for this...we all gotta work today and can't be walking around all day with our heads swimming at the thoughts of anti-small ball going 180.

(all I really wanted this year was a legit look at Ware-Bam-Jovic front court...)

Remember the bubble defense with inverted zone and the length on the outside, and the small guys on the inside to cut off driving lanes?

Spo would drool with Bam and Giddy on defense and all that length on the perimeter

What’s impressive is how the team got Mitchell to shoot decently from 3 in such a short time span

I'm salivating just thinking about it. Even better, everyone on our team will be high value (with the exception maybe of Jaime) if we need just that one more guy that gets us over the hump. We have Giddey, Herro, Bam, Ware, to play with and make that superstar trade. It's a lot better than trying to peddle Rozier and Duncan off to someone for a superstar.

I will say if there’s one thing Giddey did it was catch the Heats eye this year

We had to put our Defensive engine on him the entire game. He has no one on that team in the same stratosphere as Bam, Herro, and Ware. Drop him in on our squad, and we might just get him to be a legit star, maybe even a super star.

Idk. If Giddey was a Heat player, wouldn't the narrative be to tread lightly because he's balling out in a contract year?

And it possibly could be. I was just looking around the league for the next guy that has some potential but has not reached that gear yet and may be under valued. After 3 times that KD could have been here and has gone elsewhere, I've put him out of my mind and I don't think it would be worth trading our assets for KD at his age and contract size. I'm trying to see the next type of SGA situation, were we might be players with what we want to give up and don't want to give up.

yes...KD Is much player than JB... But they're different kind of players... That is why they're not comparable...KD Was a monster for almost a decade And he is still pretty good...jb Could barely make Half a dozen allstar games or so, but I think he was a more versatile player Than kd for a while And maybe even now

Mitchell over Dragic? We don't make the finals in 2020 without Goran IMO.

I hope we're not about to go overboard with the Heat culture stuff again. Yes it is a thing, yes it will be a thing as long as Spo is coaching this team (which will be until he decides he wants to go, so get over it already), and yes it is huge. I wouldn't want to be a fan of any other team. But I think we can learn to appreciate our guys without going overboard in overvaluing them.

I don't want to lose Davion either, but if it's a choice between him and getting KD or Zion or whatever and we get to keep our core/future (Herro, Bam, Ware)? Umm bye Davion. And Davion is slowly moving past Jovic and getting to be right behind Ware in terms of who I'd want to keep, so that's saying something. We can't keep devaluing talent and overvaluing so called "fit".
