Tonight's episode of Game of Thrones was good, the closer we get to the end of the season, so many ways it can go,so many angles this can take, i'm on the edge of my chair during all these episodes. Glad i haven't googled the ending based on the books just to cut all the drama, but it is tempting never the less.

Tonight's episode of Game of Thrones was good, the closer we get to the end of the season, so many ways it can go,so many angles this can take, i'm on the edge of my chair during all these episodes. Glad i haven't googled the ending based on the books just to cut all the drama, but it is tempting never the less.

The tv series has diverged somewhat from the original story and passed it completely by now. In the books, Jon has just been stabbed at the wall and another Targaryen pretender (not Daenerys) is traipsing around Westeros.

I liked the 4th episode but last night's one was mostly setting up for next week, right? I did like that
Gendry returned (along with Davos's joke about the rowing - that was 4th-wall funny) as well as the letter that Cersei forced Sansa to write:

Robb, I write to you with a heavy heart. Our good king Robert is dead, killed from wounds he took in a boar hunt. Father has been charged with treason. He conspired with Robert’s brothers against my beloved Joffrey and tried to steal his throne. The Lannisters are treating me very well and provide me with every comfort. I beg you: come to King’s Landing, swear fealty to King Joffrey and prevent any strife between the great houses of Lannister and Stark. (Sansa was forced to write the scroll by Cersei)

I found it a bit odd that a trained Assassin like Arya would sneak around without a disguise, but the greater surprise was how Littlefinger set her up so easily. He can't be a regular dude, right? He's survived the game too long as a regular Joe Shmoe from a small house.

That final teamup to end the episode made me so damn hype. People can complain that it's a little fanfiction-y due to all the big names involved, but the bromances are so, so good. I'ma be shook when the inevitable happens and someone dies.

I'm all about gendry killing zombies with Roberts warhammer. Next weeks episode is probably going to be my favorite ever. A suicide mission with all those shows popular bros. their plan is horrible and also a dream come true for me.

i guess now we know that Jon isn't a targaryan bastard but a fully legitimate targaryan heir. He's probably gonna end up banging his aunt and it's going to a source of conflict when she finds out that on top of being her nephew he has a stronger claim to the throne. I can see he undertaking a serious moral downfall at some point. The looks tyrion giving her and the scene he had with varys are heavy foreshadowing that she's gonna take a turn for the worst as a righteous leader. I'm selling my stock in dany!

Yes this season the creators are leading themselves, season 8 will involve material from GRRM because of course he knows the endgame to the story.

Question, what does it mean that Stanton has cleared waivers? I do not follow the MLB transactions very much so this caught me off-guard.

It means that Stanton CAN be traded. It's something MLB teams do past trade deadline to gauge interests in their own players.. there is nothing negative or personal in doing this as I understood.

This is just off wiki.. too lazy to look for official rules:

Any player under contract may be placed on waivers ("waived") at any time. After MLB's July 31st at 4 pm trade deadline and through to the end of the season, a team must place a player on waivers if that player is to be traded.

If a player is waived, any team may claim him. If more than one team claims the player from waivers, the team with the weakest record in the player's league gets preference. If no team in the player's league claims him, the claiming team with the weakest record in the other league gets preference. In the first month of the season, preference is determined using the previous year's standings.

If a team claims a player off waivers and has a viable claim as described above, his current team (the "waiving team") may choose one of the following options:

A: arrange a trade with the claiming team for that player within two business days of the claim
B: rescind the request and keep the player on its major league roster, effectively canceling the waiver
C: do nothing and allow the claiming team to assume the player's existing contract, pay the waiving team a waiver fee, and place the player on its active major league roster.

Most likely that the Marlins will rescind any trade requests from any teams and keep Stanton because he's GOAT in the making
