I don't know why we want to trade Dion so bad. It's not like we will get anything, and I am just fine with suspending the idiot every so often until his contract expires. Let him sit, rot, and wait it out.
If we trade him, I don't care what it's for, just no deals after next season obviously.

At this rate not even attaching first round picks will we be able to move him. This will end up an expensive buyout for us.

So why not just sit? If he was affecting the younger players, thats another thing. But no evidence of that to date. No need to attach an asset to move a guy that expires at the right time.

Pat is at least testing the waters and seeing what's available. That's what he should be doing.

Heat3 wrote:I think its pretty scummy the way the Heat have gone about things with Dion and JJ. We are led to believe that there were problems prior to this season that were covered up but they still put on positive public spin. That is how it has been “leaked” to the beat writers. So its “we were lying to you then but we’re telling the truth now...”.
These are guys that they glowed about in the past and now treat like lepers. It’s not just them of course. Before them the target was Whiteside. There have been other guys in the past that mysteriously fall out of favor and are put in an eternal doghouse.
From a personnel standpoint we don’t need them and the team is playing great, but I hate the inconsistency with which the team treats its players.
I don't think the Whiteside situation is comparable. Whiteside was benched, but due to us playing well and played a healthy slate of minutes. He complained about not starting and not playing enough, but was disciplined to the tune of fines and was never openly shopped.
He played when he even failed to compete. I don't even know what JJ's being dragged for, but all this emanating from back-talk from Dion is pretty wild. Dion's had offenses but he's been charged way passed the maximum penalty for each one, and no one should be okay with that. This will have demonstrative affects on his career/life.
And this final suspension is supposedly about taking a photo on a yacht? Word-- 6 games for a photo? What are they doing? Unacceptable charge if so. Wildest career implosion of a player in their prime that I've ever heard of, he's unhireable

I mean, it wouldn't be particularly shocking if Winslow wasn't thrilled with his role since his return. Unfortunately for him, team got on a roll with Nunn/Robinson starting and it kinda left him in no mans land when he came back. He has outwardly spoken about not wanting to play the 4, and to play with the ball in his hands, and that wasn't much of the case when he returned from injury.
Not sure what the plan is longer term. I'd say Justise feels he proved enough last year that he should be starting at the PG slot, but the dynamic has changed. We still don't have enough of a sample size to determine how Winslow/Jimmy work together. We need to get a read on it before the playoffs, because you need guys like Winslow in the playoffs. He was arguably our best player in that Philly series a couple years back.
Will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

I feel like it was easily JJ in that Philly series, but agreed on everything else.

I like eye in the sky, I’ve said that before. However i’d caution you have to take anything he says about Winslow with a grain of salt, he tends to “put on” extra when it comes to him since he’s warred with a lot of the heat beat guys who tend to be more pro-Winslow. Looking at this logically, he’s played 34 mins a game, there’s no reason for him to be unhappy with any role given the amount of time Spo plays him.

It's sad that the Heat has to spend time and resources on getting rid of a player instead working the phones trying to improve the roster

Guys we whale hunting now. I think even Bam can be had if it’s bringing back a super star.
What can Bam/Herro/Winslow/Filler(Dion) and pick land us? A massive whale that’s what.
And don’t get me wrong I love Bam and want him to stay here long term. But he is the piece with the most value. He is what the team with a Superstar that wants out will ask for.
Who are we getting is the real question here. Towns? Beal and other Wiz pieces? Put your seatbelts on we going for a ride!

Towns and Butler would literally get into a fight. Beal with his extension will cost us at least Herro and Winslow. Would Butler Beal and Bam be enough?

seems less about Winslow and more about an anti-Spo and coaching staff narrative he’s been pushing for a while relating back to Hassan. what ever happened to the report that Dragic was next to publicly rebel about his role? Dragic has been the most professional and has publicly embraced his role. Winslow has barely played this season.. so we’re led to believe he’s complaining even though he’s been out 3/4th of the season (with no timeline on returns yet) when he’s never made a fuss before? sure i guess lol

I wonder why he's out though. Is he "sick" like Dion and JJ have been?
Bam & Herro have shown more than he ever has.

No way Pat would trade Bam unless he gets AD in return.. Winslow has to go for a player that fits better and is a plus offensively. DJJ can play the defensive stopper "Winslow role" and is a better rebounder as a PF

That’s just postering. Dlo is as good as traded come deadline. And I hope we don’t get involved. Don’t care for him much. Not really what we need.
