Being third on the list sucks. Durant can cry all he wants but BK will take the best offer. Even if he cries for Miami and sits out. As a matter of fact if he threatens to sit out only for Miami rest assured the league will get involved. Our problem right now is we don’t have enough to trump these other offers without including Bam. I don’t see us including Bam. Durant probably wants no part of us without Bam.

I know ICC didn’t mention them but I also view the Suns as a dark horse still with up to 4 unimpeded unprotected first and 4 seconds, Saric,Crowder,CJ, and Bridges. I don’t think BK wants to deal with Herro’s extension. BK needs a quality player return haul to remain relevant so they are not dishing out lottery picks to Houston.

Brooklyn is currently 32.4 million over the tax line so if they deal Durant they will be looking to get out from that excessive tax bill. Herro’s extension next year at 25-30 is not attractive for them at all. They are most likely looking for cost controlled talent or young stars like Jaylen Brown or Brandon Ingram.Irving is probably dealt for Westbrook then BK deals Westbrook to the Spurs to get out completely from the tax.

Totally missed this one here, to respond about the Phoenix getting a better offer up, it didn't happen. When Miami received the call to one up Boston's offer, amidst the release to social media the previous rejected offer with Boston which was a tactical release from Brooklyn, a couple teams went back to the table slightly, Phoenix did not come back with anything as explained. From what I was told the only offers trumping Miami based on what they like were those 2 teams mentioned (Boston & Toronto). Again Boston has not increased their offer from what the tweet released to the social media showed, however JB is far more enticing even as its stands.

You're crazy if you think a 34 year old post achilles surgery player who misses 20+ games per season is worth that. Miami isn't stupid enough to entertain that because that isn't his value. Nets are valuing him way too high based on his name value. He is worth a lot, but he certainly isn't worth both Herro and Bam, and a lot of picks. The league as a whole does not value him even remotely as high as the Nets are or the deal would have been done already.

Of course you would make that Kyrie trade. Kyrie is a negative assett at this point. He's too much of a wildcard around the league. You're nuts if you think you won't get bent over a table on a Kyrie trade. Only a team that wants the expiring contract would be really interested. Brooklyn might have to throw in a pick to move Kyrie at this point. Lowry and a contract filler for Kyrie is reasonable. Lowry, Herro, and 3 picks is insane.

Both the Jazz and Nets are way overvaluing and only Minnesota has been stupid enough to bite on it. Nothing will change until both The Jazz and Nets, respectively, come back to earth.

What is Miami remotely offering for KD that compares to getting a package involving Jaylen Brown? If you think Bam/Herro isn't a good baseline for negotiations then you're not getting KD, the dude is still a top 7 player. Not that we can trade for Bam anyway because of that stupid rule.

At this point in their careers Miami views Bam as more of an asset than KD and rightfully so, so why would we send Herro too? KD is 34 with a bad injury history, he could get hurt next season and then we’re crippled.
