SINK OR SWIM YOU START YURT

Anyone not on board with this must love sticking to the status of sucking with small ball. It’s a hail mary but one worth taking with really nothing to lose at this point. Especially if the original intention was to start him. Stretches out our lineup and puts everyone in there proper place. No use bringing Yurt back only to have him as a third string Center.

Who falls out of the rotation between Gabe and Strus and why didn’t we trade whichever one of the deadline for some 2nds worst case and a little more money savings lol?

10 man rotation with good bench depth.. spo would never tho..

...could be intriguing.

Jimmy doesn't have the health to be full time in the ball or chasing around point guards. Unless you have Herro on the ball full time at the 1, which brings problems of its own.

This is a playoff lineup. No need to save gas. Position less.

I can’t see Lowry being out of the rotation if he actually does come back

If Lowry can get his head out of his fat robust ass he’ll have two bigs to utilize which is what every pure PG loves to have. If he does come back he starts imo and Gabe is moved to backup PG. Strus and Oladipo become situational plays behind Herro and Vincent.

But that means paying the tax again the next year, based on all of our moves, getting out of the tax is priority #1 not winning. If it means letting Lowry expire and signing another un drafted player who has "upside" that screams Miami Heat.

They wanted to get out of the tax this season to avoid the repeater tax, they knew being in the tax next year was inevitable

So real talk, is Lowry hurt or being a B?

If it’s the latter, how does Butler feel about it? Is he being a B too about it? At the end of the day, he defended his boy, and his boy isn’t even on the court for who knows what reasons. Same thing last year… was out around this time of year, and then when he finally came back, was not in good enough game shape to make an impact in the playoffs.

Butler has to hold his boy accountable. We also need to stop pretending like Lowry isn’t here because of Butler, and is part of the reason we are having trouble getting Butler help. If Lowry had lived up to his contract, then that money wouldn’t be ill spent. We would also be way more attractive to other players, seeing us as contenders instead of pretenders.

Duncan is on Pat. Lowry is on Butler and Pat.

I don't think there's any accountability happening entirely & i think it's justified because we're human

I wouldn't get too excited about the prospect of Yurt starting any time soon. He put up numbers in summer league at 27.5ppg, 13.5rpg and 4apg but he was doing it in 36mpg and with 22FGAs per game shooting 49FG% and 25% from 3 and 57%. Hopefully he will get better with more run.

I think they will give him some time to see what he's got. But he will be fighting to take Zellers minutes not start at this point I think. Bench needs easier buckets and more gravity in the paint and someone who can clean up the bricks Oladipo and Strus are laying, so I can see him getting that backup role.

Strangely the former Starting unit has spent very little time playing together since getting Love.

Spo has gone with Strus as the 6th man instead of Martin. Strus first off the bench to replace Love at the 4.

My suggestion to play Highsmith and Martin together with Herro, Dipo and Yurt as your 2nd unit. Surround Yurt and Herro with defenders and press.

Example of Highsmith and Martin having success together.

I think Haslem is essentially telling us that he is fed up with the current locker room situation and doesn’t want anything to do with it next year, coach or not. These words should be of concern…. He is willing to take time away rather than transitioning into the coach role next year….

Maybe I am reading too much into it, but all signs point to bad locker room vibes inside the heat.
