Teague is a fuxking moron! I don't know what his problem is with Wade, but he already tried this shyt with elevating Harden over him as well.

Teague is absolutely stupid for that lol good lord, i have never seen Klay carry a team like Wade did in the 2004 playoffs AS A ROOKIE, going to Game 6 against the eastern conference number 1 seed with Reggie Miller, Jermaine, and Ron Artest, Tinsley, al harrington.. it was a loaded pacers team..

Klay never was batman in his life. Wade was batman even when shaq was here and that is facts. Hell there were moments we were more effective with Alonso on the court than Shaq during the the finals.. because shaqs bone bruise had his mobility limited.

Yes it is a thing, yes it will be a thing as long as Spo is coaching this team (which will be until he decides he wants to go, so get over it already), and yes it is huge. I wouldn't want to be a fan of any other team. But I think we can learn to appreciate our guys without going overboard in overvaluing them.

I don't want to lose Davion either, but if it's a choice between him and getting KD or Zion or whatever and we get to keep our core/future (Herro, Bam, Ware)? Umm bye Davion. And Davion is slowly moving past Jovic and getting to be right behind Ware in terms of who I'd want to keep, so that's saying something. We can't keep devaluing talent and overvaluing so called "fit".

Unfortunately we do get a bit overboard with it..

From everything i gathered on this board, according to the fans the following is untradeable even for prime Michael Jordan:

1. Bam
2. herro
3. Jovic
4. Ware
5. Davion

The following should be able to net you an all nba caliber player in their prime:

1. Duncan Robinson
2. Terry rozier
3. Kyle andersen
4. Wiggins
All those players combined with First round picks and swaps.

I know this is more of an off-season thing, but I'm curious to see what kind of contract Davion Mitchell gets this off-season. Because I think it's unlikely he comes back merely on the QO.

Some comparisons:
  • TJ McConnell: 11mm/yr average
  • Pritchard: ~8mm/yr average (top-value contract and therefore unrealistic)
  • McBride: ~4mm/yr average (top-value contract and therefore unrealistic)
  • Conley/Paul: ~10mm/yr average
  • Clarkson: ~14mm/yr average
  • Cole Anthony: ~14mm/yr average
  • Gabe Vincent: ~11mm/yr average

So, with a realistic range of 10-14mm/yr for backup point guards, I'd love to see something like a 3yr/36mm deal for him (with no player options). That would be right down the middle and give both sides time to see if a new deal is needed down the road.

And then minimum deals for everyone else who will be retained, except Burks who probably deserves something like a 2yr/10-12mm deal if some other guys get cut or traded to open up space.

I'll try to comment on restructures and trades more in the off-season thread!

That's great info. Thanks for providing it!
Based of your research that seems correct for Mitchell.

I think Burks is gone if he's going to get that much. He's 33. Heat probably feel they could get something similar.

Wade vs. Thompson

Come on man.... Wade's best years were playing next to past his prime Jermaine O'Neal, Udonis Haslem, Mario Chalmers, and Michael Beasley. Thompson spent his entire prime playing next to Curry and Green.

Hell take their first 8-9 years in to account (i.e. Wade's time prior to Lebron joining Heat). If they swapped places do you think the Warriors would have had more or less success with Wade on the Warriors instead of Thompson? If they swapped places do you think the Heat would have had more or less success with Thompson on the Heat instead of Wade? Do you see the Heat winning Finals with Thompson next to Shaq?

I don't even pay attention to these shows/podcasts. Hot takes get them views n clicks, so they say crazy stuff.
The only thing Klay does better than Wade is shooting 3s. I can say the same thing about Duncan Robinson, lol

Whenever players talk **** about contemporaries (ie, guys that played at the same era), take it with a grain of salt. They usually be hating because of that leftover competitive mindset. ESPECIALLY if their teams had serious rivalries. Wade said Isaiah Thomas and MJ were STILL beefing at the top 75 ceremony. Didn't even want to speak to each other.

TBH I think if Miami makes the playoffs, it increases the likelihood that Davion's contract number becomes a little too pricey to lock in

Why would resigning Davion prevent getting KD?

I've seen it mentioned regarding salaries.

Lol ishiba’s press conference today just goes to show he has absolutely no idea how to run an organization.. he thinks you can just hire X coach, plug him in and the franchise turns around.. thats not how sports and winning works, ever.

All you guys that complain about spoelstra, pat riley, and mickey, yall take it for granted how lucky weve got it. The Warriors, Spurs, Boston share the same luck weve got. It takes a whole lot of patience and strong leadership to compete and stay relevant. Since 2004, 7 finals appearances, 3 titles, very few have had our kind of success.

We need to figure out whatever cap voodoo we need to do to keep Mitchell. I don't think there has ever been a more "Heat Culture" player. At this point, I wouldn't even mind starting him next to Herro for the foreseeable future. Dude might be able to rival UD's level of Heat Culture in time.
I didn't know cap was not sufficient for Mitchell... He needs to stay here.
If not Miami Is a losing it's best point guard In decades.

Mitchell over Dragic? We don't make the finals in 2020 without Goran IMO.
I don't
Consider dragic to be a point g... To me he was a dragon of the g positions
