We already gonna have a log jam at the SF spot, with Luol,Granger, and potentially Ennis, and Beasley.
So I think we can eliminate Marion,Boozer is still a possibility I could see happening.
With the scenario that Boozer comes along, that most certainly means Bosh starting at the 5 again, and that's bad news on the defensive rebounding aspect of the floor.
I think Spo and Riley plan on playing this small ball game until the day they die. I'd be happy to not sign Boozer if it meant Birdman was starting at center, Bosh down to power forward and McRoberts to the bench. But I just can't see it happening, so I want Boozer and Marion here, two solid rebounders to help us not get absolutely torn up in that regard. Marion can come in and be a backup play to Ennis if he doesn't pan out as well. I know he's showing potential but he's not on a sure thing on a team that's trying to compete.
Good points, but with Pat Riley challenging coach Spo to reinvent himself, that tells me a change in schemes is coming.Small ball really has no purpose anymore now that Lebron is gone,(most likely taking all of our knockdown shooters with him in the process). So it wouldn't even be useful if you don't have the personnel.
Birdman is good for energy off the bench, for about 20 minutes 25 at the most. Bosh will be the number one option on this team, and if he's gonna be a peak performance he can't be taking the constant beatings at the C spot that he did during the final 2,and a half years of the Big 3 era.
That's why I think it's crucial that Greg Oden steps up to the challenge this year for the starting role for 15-20 minutes a game, and I think that's very achievable.
Haven't heard us being linked to Marion(he's pretty old too),but will see what happens.
