Butler and Winslow can play backup PG but yes another PG is needed, also need to add a vet backup defensive center.

If you're adding Maten and Robinson, you can't leave out Kendrick Nunn at pg. He's averaging 21, 6, 5 and 1.5 in summer league.

Him and Herro have been our two best players.

CP3, Butler, Winslow, Olynyk, Bam, Hanson, DJJ, and Herro

Need to somehow make this a 2 team deal to prevent a third team from splitting the picks with us. We need multiple picks to take on that contract.

You would have a top defensive backcourt and a top scoring backcourt. As Paul gets older, that give time for Herro to mature and move into the starting lineup, while Winslow moves to the point position permanently. Also gives a chance for Winslow to become a scorer if he truly gonna become one. This will be Winslow and Bam real test on who they are gonna be.

I think you need a shooter in that starting lineup. Winslow might be best coming off the bench again.

Paul, Butler, Winslow and Olynyk can shoot. Defenders have to stay on them at the 3 point line so the spacing is fine.

Nobody is thinking of Winslow as a shooter. That's not his shtick. Olynyk has proven to be fairly average so far. Need another shooter.

As bad as that Chris Paul 44 million dollar player option at 37 years old in 2021 sounds, just remind yourself we got Jimmy Butler this summer with negative cap space.

If a guy (Bradley Beal) wants to come here, he'll make it happen. The power is within the players.

Another thought.

Miami sends Dragic, JJ, Waiters and Olynyk
for
Toronto sends Lowry and Gasol(both expiring).
http://tradenba.com/trades/SyOmo78bS

Lowery, Butler, Winslow, Bam, Gasol with a bench of Leonard, DJJ, Herro

Gasol is key because he is one of the few centers who can cause Embiid issues.
Also, 60 million coming off the books next year, once again, resign them for much smaller deals.

CP isn’t giving us much more than what Wade did these last two seasons. That is not 40 million worth of production, and if it is, then if it were possible, I would rather call Wade up and offer him a big pay day than gift OKC a free get out of jail card.

Now you are selling CP3 wayyyyyyyyyy short. He would be the second best point in the east.

CP would be Wades age at the end of this deal making 40 million in one season! Wade didn’t even make that in his last 3 years combined! Wonder how CP will look at that point?

You do understand Wade had chronic knee issues right. That is something we all knew he was gonna have a hard time after 30. Paul has a hammy but he doesnt have a chronic problem that hold him back from playing well on the court nightly. Its either his hammy gets pulled or its ok. And the 40 mill thing, that money is gonna be spent, do you rather give it to Waiters and James Johnson or Paul?

This forum is going to blow up when we are 20 games in and CP3 starts terrorizing our young guys...

Then they shouldn't have taken CP3s contract.

If they want to compete for a chip they need to toughen up. Or they can continue being a lottery team, do cute dances on the sidelines, and be carefree of any pressures. Yall need to stop calling them Kids and treating them like some little girls on a soccer team. These are grown ass men and they need to start competing on a high level.

I think that's somewhat realistic. But my guess is that OKC wants to end up with Dragic who is expiring, instead of JJ and Waiters who have 2 years left. Love that we keep Olynyk in that scenario though.

OKC are a few years off, them getting JR Smith, they can cut instantly(before Monday) and instantly save 12 million this year plus, they still have meet the soft cap this year and next, not sure they're looking to start contending next year, maybe in 2 SGA developing as their PG and some other moves in 2 years.

I think our team is plenty tough and I didn't call em kids....

CP3 antics has helped him compete for many a 'chip though!

In a related topic did anyone catch the USWNT Championship parade?

Yeah, sure. Let CP3 share his knowledge with the kids. Ben Simmons is gonna be chittin blood when the playoffs roll around and his mindgames don’t work because everyone spent an entire season with Jimmy and CP0 in their ears.

Guys, I don't know everything. I might even be wrong here, but I highly highly doubt CP3 allows a team to turn his last year into a Team option instead of a player option.

Allegedly the asking price was Dragic, Winslow and Herro. If Herro doesnt blow up we will be questioning that move for a while.

I have no idea what the asking price is for Chris Paul, but the upside to that move is how he will make Bam and Herro better with easier shots. Ideally he should help Winslow also. Out of all the players on the market and considering our price range, i guess Paul might not be a bad idea. Sure he might not be healthy in the playoff but will help us get to the playoffs and make our role players better.

I come in peace...My guess is Miami fans...the thunder already had solid possible CP3 destinations before the finalized the WB trade...
My only concern I would have if I were you is CP3 energy...whocares about the salary...It's not like its for 6 years-like it use to be...

I think in the regular season you load manage him big time, which is a lot easier in the east than the west. 20 games a year you start Winslow at point, with Butler running a lot of the offense, and Herro and Nunn getting some backup minutes at point.

That's a lot of money to leave on the table though...

Oh yeah. 40 million bucks is no joke. Depends on whether he thinks he can recoup that through endorsements in a bigger market, and how long he plans on playing.

Its not an issue if he doesn't mind playing in OKC.

He would be delusional if he thought he can make up $40mil in endorsements at age 37. State Farm would want him in a large market for sure. I think he forces his way out while keeping his money Melo style. Will Detroit bite for a chance at Lob City part 2, Cocoon edition?
