He is Dorrel's brother?! Wow they are look alike when i think about it.
Solid pick up, he is a really good defender.
Give him 25 minutes and he can give us 10 pts 6 asists and 3 steals per game and impact wininig.
We needwd that backup PG. Always been a fan of his game.

Delon will love playing at the top of Miami's zone.

I just hope he's actually healthy and in proper form. Statistically there's been a drop off in his play compared to last season. I know he came back from an injury this season.

is he related to former heat player dorell wright?

Little brother
oh okay thanks for the reply, you know his face reminded me of dorrel wright. if he is going to give the heat more defense then its a good pick up that spo can use in certain situations. yeah the heat needs to work on their defense more now in this short break.

i dont mind as long as he adds positive stuff to the team. time will tell

Now with the 15th roster spot signed it also opens up extra games for the 2 ways to get in now. Win win all the way around

I may be getting ahead of myself, but I want to brainstorm this a bit.

IF Delon can be healthy, get integrated into the schemes, and be the player he was last season, the addition of his skillset can do A LOT of good for Miami's lineup versatility. I've said before that Spo essentially wants to deploy this Butler-Bam era squad like a special forces unit--adaptable and ready to execute varied specific missions to exploit the opponent in a playoff setting.

Adding a 6'5 combo guard that works best as a disruptive POA defender with some ability to protect the ball, set the table on offense, and hit the open 3 can potentially shore up a good bit of rotational questions. I think it can provide clarity to the likely rotation at each position, with PF remaining the biggest wild card depending on opponent.

1: Rozier (30) - Wright (18)
2: Herro (30) - Duncan (18) - Wright
3: Butler (36) - Jaquez (12) - Martin/Duncan
4: Jovic / Highsmith / Martin / Jaquez (48 minutes split depending on opponent)
5: BAM (36) - Love (12)

Let's breakdown the type of optimal lineups that can be deployed:

Balanced Defense
Rozier
Wright
Butler
Caleb/Highsmith
BAM

Balanced Offense
Rozier
Herro
Jimmy
Jovic
BAM

Lock Down D
Wright
Butler
Caleb
Highsmith
BAM

Fire Power Offense
Rozier
Herro
Robinson (or Jovic at the 4)
Butler
BAM

JUMBO
Wright
Jaquez
Butler
Jovic/Love
BAM

Speed
Rozier
Wright
Butler
Martin
BAM

I don’t think he will fully replace JRich when JRich is back. But definitely a good and needed option right now with both Rozier and JRich hurting.

I'm not sure he will actually fully replace J Rich either. But, if he's the player he was last year, I def think he's an upgrade to J Rich's role.

And I've been a J Rich defender when everyone was trashing him. His play prior to injury was def improved.

Playoff rotations will really be anyone's guess.

I'm just happy to have another versatile guard defender in our rotation that can actually run some offense and (hopefully) hit some open 3s.

Delon has never had a negative O rating D rating differential. Looks like a quality role player.

I mean, Wade played with Dorell for years and they’re super tight. Of course he was gonna do the jersey swap with lil bro.

Buyout market perspective: both Gallinari and Delon were on the Hawks squad that Miami faced in the playoffs 2 seasons ago. Gallo was already looking washed then, whereas Delon was one of the more effective rotation players for the Hawks. Iirc he gave Herro hell that series

Amazing pickup; I was even contemplating the idea of trading a 2nd round pick for him. They got him for free!

He's capable of playmaking and can hit the occasional three and has the ability to finish at the rim from time to time. The ideal guard to complement Duncan/Herro, he has size and offers defensive support to mask them, while also being adept at ball-handling on offense, setting them up for catch-and-shoot threes.

Go check his on/ off in the series. I thought the Heat would sign him as soon as possible.

Glad it’s late than never. His IQ and hustle is literally a match made in heaven for Jimmy,Bam, and Jaime. I despise Terry Rozier I wished he could just get on a one way rocket ship to space.

Great pickup.. if we're actually going to play him at this natural position.

Knowing Spo he'll have Delon as our 4.

Delon is always near the top of the league in defensive plays per foul (with Jimmy) and assist to turnover ratio when healthy. I can’t contain how ecstatic I am for this move. Delon is a walking ball of offensive rebounds and possession advancing passes. Jimmy is gonna rave about him all season.
