Problem with this deal is I don't see the Raptors having any interest in taking on the extra years of both KO and Waiters. Maybe KO but Waiters is a negative asset. They are better off letting Gasol expire or shopping him for a real asset. Also keep in mind you added 800K coming into this deal to our books and we are already pressed up against the cap. That would leave us with nothing to sign Silva.

Toronto faces a circumstance in which they could lose both Ibaka and Gasol for nothing in the off season. Olynik would give them some security at a reasonable salary.

Dion would indeed be a hard sell. One could try and make the case to them that he could effectively become their poor man's DeRozan.

Your point regarding Mia's salary cap situation and Silva is taken. Riley could throw in Duncan which would act as a "trade sweetener" and would reduce the team's cap number to fit in Silva.

Spitballing.

Yeah I got banned too. I never asked to be reinstated because I'd just end up getting banned again.

I remember running into trouble with tsherkin once because I was making the case that Lebron got too much credit for being a willing passer. That 6 or 7 assists a game was hardly great for a guy that dominated the ball as much as he did. I mean I grew up watching Magic Johnson average twice that many assists per game. tsherkin basically called me an idiot and locked the thread.

To me 3 options that might be out there for a trade package of waiters and Johnson are the following:

N. Batum

O. Porter

G. Hayward (would have to include DJJ) and still would be least likely

If Chicago and Charlotte continue to lose then I think Porter and Batum can become real options. I think either could fit really well in Miami’s position-less lineups as SF or Small ball stretch PF.

Trading Dion has been impossible for damn near a year. Won't get any easier unless he starts playing and playing really well.

Things I love about this Heat team so far:

Dragic doing work....off the bench. What needed to be, has become.

Nunn exploding on to the scene, and making everyone take notice.

Bam taking it to another level. Dude is averaging 15, 10, and 5 (assists!). Amazing defender to start the year.

Justise leading the team in Butler's absence. If not for the most bloated contract in the league getting hot, Winslow leads us to a 3-0 start.

Herro as a starter in Butler's absence. Kid has a way to go, but he has a pure shot and doesn't hesitate. Finally some shooters!

Guys getting their offense in the flow. Nobody is forcing the issue. It's a beauty to watch.

Everyone doing work. DJJ is having an awesome start to the year in limited minutes. Look at Leonard's per 36 basic/advanced stats. Nice!

We are like 11 deep right now?! Craziness.

Thirty one FTAs a game! 150% of what we average last year.

25 assists a game!

I couldn't have asked for a better start to the season, with better storylines fleshing themselves out. Looking forward to more of the same.

Porter would be a nice fit, but even just losing won’t be enough incentive for Bulls to trade him for Dion/JJ.

He'd probably would fit well with the guys we've brought together. I'd be more interested in him this year if he didn't sign his extension already. I wouldn't want to commit to Draymond at 22-27mil per year over the next 4 years.

But to see him play defense with Winslow, Butler and Bam would be something special.

Doesn’t his extension preclude him from being traded for a period of time? When does that end?

I feel he would impact both ends well, but I feel like Love would be just as big a net impact as him (more O and less D).

Winslow/Nunn/Butler/Bam/Love
Winslow/Nunn/Butler/Green/Bam

Both exciting lineups, but for different reasons.

Small signs of Bam being an creator offensively. Hopefully point forward Winslow wakes up.

The dynasty is over for the poor warriors. They also got to deal with the fact they let “ Brother Nunn” slip away. Poor souls.

Do you think the dynasty is over? GS being forced to tank plus the D'Lo trade probably gave them a 2nd dynasty. They'll be bad enough to get a very high draft pick next year and also cashing in D'Lo for let's say a package from Minnesota's that includes Covington and Culver and this team is ready for a 2nd set of final runs. Curry, Culver, Thompson, Covington, and Green while tossing in a pretty high lottery pick from the next draft, that's a top contender. All they have to do now is find/develop some depth(1-3 players) for the next few years. Golden State could have a stronger team going forward then they were before KD arrived.

Trading D'Lo is the key for their future.

6 months ... which is past the trade deadline, so he can't be traded until the offseason.

TD Bank, a New Jersey-based banking and financial services company, has had serious discussions with Miami-Dade County about acquiring naming rights to the Miami Heat’s bayfront arena, according to three non-basketball sources briefed on the situation.

One source called TD Bank the front-runner, but another cautioned that even though TD Bank is pursuing rights, other companies also remain in the mix to replace American Airlines as the naming rights sponsor for the 19,600-seat facility.

We'd go from sharing an arena name with the Mavs to sharing one with the Celtics.

Well, there is one name we know for sure we won't be sharing with anyone

Trading D'Lo is the key for their future.

Their main guys are all on the wrong side of 30, and they play in stacked West where teams like Suns, Mavs & Wolves have gotten better. I doubt the Wolves would even do the trade given how good they are right now. They are in win now mode.
