Smart, Clarke, Kennard, and Konchar, with picks. I assume Clarke would go to a third team because his contract is a year too long.

Mmkay, so then my next question would be why. This sounds awful.

Because the Butler era is over

I like him going to a bad team like Toronto wizards or hornets. Teams that won't give him any help by getting better players to play with him

Yeah, but there's no reason for those types of teams to trade for Jimmy.

Oh IRA. The Suns are paying 164M to be……not much better than this.

I know, but still. We have to be able to do better than that. Unless you’re talking about like 4-5 picks. Even if they’re not projected to be that high of pics, at least collecting them for a larger trade down the line.

Butler for Middleton, Portis, and Connaughton works in ESPN trade machine.
Doesn't save the Heat any money, but keeps the books clear for 2026.

Buddy, he blew up his value. He's also 35 years old and hasn't played 65 games in like half a decade. He's acting like a malcontent just like he did in Minnesota. He's burned bridges everywhere he's gone, and if Miami which is considered to be an extremely strong organization can't keep the guy happy, it's perceived that he'll do this elsewhere. No one wants to take that on. He's not going to give us the kind of haul you or I would hope for. It's something we need to accept. We're getting bent over on this one.

There is no requirement that he must be traded by the deadline.

I’m just saying if the trade doesn’t make sense, we shouldn’t make it.

I don't believe that the Heat waited two hours for Jimmy. Especially with Jimmy acting up recently. That sounds like bull to me.

I don’t doubt they’d wait to be able to hit him with a second suspension. Wait 2 hours to hold back 2 games’ worth of pay? Good deal.

How the hell is he gonna screw up Utah? They are not trying to win or build a good roster. They just collecting trade chips hoping one day they find a star to build around

Since Butler found out that the Heat was not gonna talk about extension until summer 2025 Butler has started a PR campaign with his social media team to cause as much media chaos as possible.

;t=16s

He points out the social media team Butler has traveling with him. Using them as fake props, acting like he giving away money to random fans but it was his social media team who he was actually giving the money too and posting on burner media accounts then they would give the money back to him

Return to Miami Heat
