The GM can slow all the way down to the trade deadline and get a desperate team that thinks Durant is the missing piece to trade with..

Dark horse teams that Durant probably never considered going to like the Magic or the pistons have an abundance of assets to trade. Thats what the Suns want.

Weve been in this situation before tho where we have massively overpaid for a player to come here.. i just want the Heat not to do something so blatantly stupid for a 37 year old basketball player.

Im trading every bad contract weve got, which is wiggins and kyle, dumcan robinson and ill budge with the 20th pick and add it to the package… thats it

The big issue is even if an "outsider" team wanted to make a better offer, Durant may not sign an extension with them, play out the year, and leave. Unless Durant agrees to sign an extension, teams are not going to make massive offers for a 1-year rental. Durant got out ahead of this by leaking he'd only sign extensions with Houston, San Antonio, and Miami.

He's 37 years old. Acquiring him as a 1 year rental is the dream scenario.

But that will reduce what teams will give the Suns. That's the point.

I like that trade a lot for the Magic. Not sure about the Grizz but Cole Anthony isn’t a bad piece.

Not giving him an extension may be for the best. He is turning 37 with an extensive injury history.

Miami is not trading for Durant to not give him an extension.

As soon as Miami acquires Durant, Miami will be calling up Westbrook, Chris Paul, Brook Lopez...etc and seeing who they can get on board for a run at a title.

Holy ****, I had been curious about what we could get from Orlando for Herro. I’d say Anthony KCP and at minimum 2 1sts but probably 3.

Ok get KD and send the remaining assets including Herro for Ja, sign someone of the Gary Trent Jr mold to start at the 2 and be a 3 and D guy.

Bane is a 2-way player, Herro is not. That doesn't change this is a massive overpay, but Bane fits with Orlando's offense as he is not ball-dominant and he's a tough defender.

Hey if you think you can get a guy that can take you over the top sometimes you gotta pay the price, this FO hasn’t learned that yet. Suggs/Bane backcourt is insane from a 3 and D perspective.

You do have to wonder if Ja is available now given the Bane deal. Not sure Ja is someone Miami would target given his off-court baggage, but who knows.

They are probably drafting Bane’s replacement at 16. Nique Clifford or Cedric Coward

When its all said and done it may have came down between Miami and Raptors. Miami being the best offer from Durant preferred destination and Raptors with the Suns preferred package but Durant doesn't want to go too

Sure. And if they believe Banchero/Wagner can be 1-2 on a contender, Bane is a great 3rd wheel.

Bane is good, but he's more on the Mikal Bridges level. I guess nothing was learned from overpaying for Bridges or role players like Gobert. Wild.

I should keep in mind Orlando is not exactly a FA destination. So...hey.

Maybe unless they view Wells as his replacement, gotta wonder how Ja feels about it and I’m wondering if the noise about him leaving starts to pick up again. It was loud this regular season and I know it’s “Fat Erny” but he said Ja wants to be in Miami this summer.
