agree.

Lebron
Wade
Shaq
Mourning
Bosh
Rice
Hardaway

my list so far. think he's right behind Bosh, but continued improvement and consistency can push him up. crazy!

I think you are selling short Hardaway and Rice's contributions to the franchise. RIGHT NOW, I would even add Seikaly to that list above Hassan. IMO, he still needs to do it for more than a season in the beast mode he's been since the allstar break to start climbing over the Eddie Jones, etc. The talent is there and he is poised to climb that all time list. It would not surprise me to see him as a top 5 or even top 3 by the time all is said and done.... IF he maintains his current path.

Wade has pretty much envisioned Hassan as a future HOFer and has declared Hassan as Miami's best player, post ASB... after 120 career ******* games played.

According to Elias Sports Bureau, with his 13 rebounds in Sunday's victory, Whiteside became the first reserve to reach double digits in rebounds in nine consecutive games off the bench since Dennis Rodman did it in 1993-94 with the San Antonio Spurs.

And when Whiteside enters, it raises the pressure on the glass exponentially for the opposition. Over the past 10 games, only Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond is averaging more rebounds than Whiteside's 15.2 per game, with Whiteside second in the league in defensive rebounding over that span and fifth in offensive rebounding.

"He's just focused on basketball," Wade said. "He's not really worried about nothing else. And he's doing his job for our team. He's in a different mindset right now."

just ranking strictly on talent, not contributions. no argument from me that those other guys have done more. i'd put my childhood favorite Steve Smith on that list too :D

LOL @ the "silly strawman argument " accusation. SMH..It's like the entire board wants to pretend that only two weeks ago, they weren't giddy at the thought of trading Hassan for Ryan bleepin Anderson, Al "Haslem" Horford, or any movable corpse that came with "bird rights".

The anti-Hassan movement will return the second he has his inevitable Charles Oakley moment(s) again. Wish we'd just embrace his "take no sh-t" personality instead of trying to tame him into mild mannered Bosh.

Mars wrote:
...Whiteside has been laser-focused since a 90-minute meeting with Spoelstra, in his office, during the All-Star break. So what happened in that meeting?

“He told me I'm a top-15 player talent [wise]. It's just if I'm willing to come out and play like it every night,” Whiteside said. “Spo's motto is 1 percent better. I can come out here and have 10 blocks. It doesn't matter.

"He talks about being a better defender, being a better offensive player, being a better teammate, being a better person. We have an understanding of each other. We talked for so long. Me and coach Spo, we worked our way up to get here. Spo is my guy.”

Teammates notice a difference. Dragic said Whiteside is more engaged, “more focused. Sometimes you tried to tell him something [previously] and he didn’t listen too much. Now he’s doing that. The communication goes both ways.

“It's not only about listening, it's about talking --- to give information out and receive information. He's listening to the players and coaches and he's doing his thing. It's the most relaxed I've seen him. He's just happy. He's found that last step he needs in his game.”

Wade said Whiteside came back from the All-Star break “a different person on the floor and really focusing and being dominant night in and night out."...

It reminds me why I hold Spo in such high regard. He is a player maker.

Maybe haven't been on here enough to know exactly how the feeling around Hassan in regards to his long term status here was, but the general viewpoints in terms of why fans wouldn't have minded the HEAT trading him was....

1) Hassan had an attitude problem.

2) No bird rights, so we lack the advantage to offer the extra year assuming we're trying to keep him.

3) HEAT front office didn't view him as a max player, and probably still doesn't. Given how he's played under a pretty fair sample, that stance must've been altered by now.

4) Jumping off point #2 and 3, whether you think Hassan is max guy or not, he's still too talented to let walk for nothing.

All of these aren't arguments you can reasonable use to label anyone an Hassan-hater. Even those who thought he's a DeAndre Jordan on steroids. I don't think it was ever a matter of fans hating him, or wanting him gone. Again, straw man. We're all HEAT fans here that want the best for the team. Different viewpoint =/= hater.

In one of the discussions on here, it was a HEAT "fan", whom i will not name said something along the lines of, "HEAT should waive Hassan if they cannot find a trade partner", because he's a locker room cancer. THAT is one of the most idiotic things i've ever read. The HATE was real around here back in January. Now guys are flip flopping and acting as if they never made up dumb trades and used Ethan's tweets as the bible. It's quite funny how some have changed their tunes. #neverforget #glorified

1. Never seen anyone even suggesting waiving Hassan, I call BS - Show us the poster and post if that's true. Even trading him was discussed mainly because of the fear of losing him for nothing, in a time Heat were cold on him and rumors of letting him walk for nothing came from within the organization.

2. The funniest thing is that you of all people are calling posters Heat "fans" in quotes.

When you're the biggest Hassan on the Heat hater imaginable - you kept wishing he was gone, over and over you wanted him out of here...Telling us how he hates this teams...how he can't wait to be a Laker..how much he should go to LA...What a joke of "fan" you are.
