The Miami Heat are looking to address their need at power forward with their first round pick, and appear to have identified a top target.

After working out UCLA's T.J. Leaf on Thursday, the Heat are interested in using the No. 14 pick to draft him, according to Manny Navarro of the Miami Herald.

Among Leaf, Collins, and the other wannabe Kaminskys, Markkanen is the only one I'd draft if he slid. Then take Kobi Simmons in the second round with a bought pick. Kid's got upside.

Justin Patton

Glad to see more folk on the Patton train but you should know the boy is plenty soft, even as skilled as he is. If I didn't believe in drafting in the lotto based on upside, wouldn't consider him. Doesn't have that Miami dog, dude gets bullied too often. There's hope that he builds into his frame as he ages and learns to compete but if you've seen em', it's a bit concerning.

You could see some flashes of it in his weaknesses vid, also he's not gonna be fit to play the 4

Spoiler:
Gonna need some work on his feet, but the boy got some Miami stink on him, Panda. Smell like Po'k and old Trick Daddy CD's

I respect your opinion Bish but i just cant come to grips with being sold on Leaf. It's not because i think he's a goofy white boy either. I'm actively rooting for Zach Collins and wouldn't even mind Luke Kennard. I just don't see anything special with Leaf. Comes off as an NBA journeyman type in the mold of David Lee but worse. Patton on the other hand I see plenty of potential. I think we can make that kid into something special. I also wound't mind John Collins. I think if you team him up with fellow Deacon JJ we can develop him into a similar type player.

I like pattons flashes, but he just gets lost sometimes. I'd bet money he hasn't been playing organized ball that long. He has a buttload of potential though.

Kamisky-Wannabe's might be the most or least veiled racially-discriminant code word I've heard in the draft in the last few years, depending on who you ask.

Nice to see the "Euros" aren't getting picked on as much anymore, even though we still have guys who think the NCAA can compete in any shape with the professional competition in Euroleague's

Lol, but we almost made the playoffs, that counts for...... nothing

The talk about "trading up" annoys me way more than it should, because I saw the outcome

Unless we could've tanked for a top 3 pick, there was almost no point. Trading everyone for the 8th pick of the draft wouldn't have done much for our future.

When pluralizing a word, there's no apostrophe. But yeah, that's a reference to the unwarranted nut-hugging half of you give them (to the continued detriment of this board's collective intelligence), despite less than 5% of them ever translating well to the NBA (assuming they even latch on with a team). Yeah, they're tall, white, and skinny, but their game (and physical ability) is their problem, not their skin color. Just so happens that they're white.

Markkanen, on the other hand...

...is much more fluid and a better prospect. Go figure.

I'm going to ignore that in its' entirety for the benefit of the board, as I'm sure you did when you ignored my actual point. Wouldn't mind drafting Markkanen but I wouldn't call him a flawless prospect either... I would draft ZCollins over him just on the merit of his <20DReb%,<5Blk%, <2Stl% and could see an argument for a more well rounded Leaf to be mocked near him at the very least but to each their own papi

Anyone else feel like Dillon Brooks is massively underrated. He's pretty much the same size as Jimmy Butler size and wingspan wise.

Donovan Mitchell is the pick we need that guy looks like a mini Westbrook. Odds are we losing Dion we need someone to play with that explosive energy in his place.
