This forum has been pretty big on players ages and injury history. I’m curious how many years and how much dough people would be willing to commit to a 31 year old Oladipo on an open market next summer.

If the medical staff gave me the thumbs up, this summer I would have offered 3+1, possibly a 2+1 with the last year being a team option for 20 mil a year, I'm not sure how effective Oladipo will be a 33 and beyond. To me that's Miami reaching out with a solid contract for an ex-all-star who basically forced his way to Miami but also Miami protecting itself with a team option. Had he not forced his way to Miami maybe I offer less per year but I want to incentivize future high level players to continue to force their way to Miami.

Next summer, Oladipo's going to try to get the most money he can if looks anywhere near his old self. This summer was the time to lock him in if your medical staff gives you the thumbs up. I'm not sure Miami will be able to resign him without going into the tax, Miami has a number of decisions to make on big money and the core of the team for the next 3-5 years.

We have to find a trade partner for Herro. Too many guards on this roster right now and a major shortage of PF. Herro is going to get paid at least $25M a year and Id rather have Dipo for half that anyway, he is a better 2 way player. I think based on value alone, Gabe and Strus are better, Not saying Herro is garbage, he is valuable, but based on cost (after his extension) he has more value on another team.

I want Yurt on this team and I still believe Duncan has value even though he is an overpaid 3 point specialist. The team did well with Yurt starting when BAM was out and Duncan being a moving 3 point shooter wears down whoever is guarding him.

Trade Herro and a FRP if needed to a team with extra bigs they can part with.

No quality deal to be had with Herro without the inclusion of Duncan or Lowry's salary or both.

You don't win on grit, you win on talent. Saying you want to drastically improve the team in a Durant trade is one thing. Trading for damn role players to save money is asinine and will have us looking up at the standings for a half decade. Tatum is about to make 5yr/300 million next year. People really don't grasp new NBA contracts if you think 25-30 mil is some line in the sand.

When you say a team with extra bigs they can part with, we likely arent talking about an all star caliber player. Trading Herro and draft compensation just to pick up a body in the front court isnt a winning move, its not a smart move. If the return isnt an all star, Herro is off the table. Gabe and Strus better value? Im glad Riley, Andy and them are in charge

Apparently his name is "Hayward" not "Haywood." I confused him with the other bum already on our roster.

We dont necessarily need an all star caliber player, we need solid bodies to play the 4 and avoiding tying up $25-30M in a one way player. Is Herro at $30 M that much better than Duncan at 17M? Yes, Gabe and Strus on small deals (even extending them would cost way less than Herro). You can also get way better than a role player for Herro and a FRP. Include Duncan for salary if you have to.

Prefer resigning Herro over Gordon Hayward any day. Gordon had his chance but chose Boston. He’s been banged up way too much these past few years. Pass

Yep, we need guys who can play and having to trade multiple "role Players" for one star thats always injured isnt smart. Same can be said for KD and these guys arent young anymore.

All this talk of free agencies past and sneks remind me of why I feel Lebron is the biggest snake of all time.

When he left Miami he waited for free agency to dry up to hinder us from retooling. Rat bastard.

We have to stop acting like a poverty franchise. It costs money to retain talented players, we cant just decide to not pay anybody and only extend marginal role players like Vincent and Strus. Projected cap for 23-24 season is 133 million and you are honestly complaining about a top 3 player on the team getting 20% of that cap space.

An interesting team to possibly trade with to get some PF/C depth would be Orlando. With Banchero drafted #1 they're even more full at the PF and C positions. Isaac would be a medical risk with high reward to add a switchable 7 foot PF. Could add someone like Wagner or Carter and have them continue to work on their 3ball to play with Bam as a starter or backup.

Banchero PF/C <- not moving
J.Isaac PF 17 mil (2 years)
Okeke PF/SF 6'6''(Heat sized) 3.4,5.3 mil (2 years)

Carter Jr C/PF 14-11 mil (4 years)
Bamba C 10.3 (2 year) <- can't be traded till Dec 15th
M.Wagner C1.8 mil
B.Bol 2.2 C mil (2 years) <- can't be traded till Dec 15th

You cant have Lowry, BAM and Jimmy consuming all that cap space then pay Herro up to $30M when you can pay Strus, Gabe and Dipo for the same amount. Sorry, Id rather have those guys than pay Herro all star money. Had we not over paid Duncan and got a worn out Lowry paying them $49 M combined, then maybe the narrative is different.

Orlando has been hoarding and wasting talented front court players for way too long. It really irks me.
