I remember that All-Defensive team thread and all the Lakers fans were crying AD didn't make it and was going to prove he got snubbed in the WCF. Played softer than charmin

He was hurt and needs surgery. He's not top 10 but he's better than what he showed in this series. But I don't see LA winning another one. AD who is in prime showed he's not a top 10 guy or no 1 option. And you can't win a chip if you don't have a top 10 guy. Both AD and Lebron need to be in teams where they are the 2nd option. Neither one is consistent enough to be the guy on a championship team. If I was LA, I'd blow it up
Wonder if LA were serious bout trading AD, what they could land for him.
Herro + 3 1st round picks + 2 swaps + Jovic + Caleb
They're not getting what they traded for him. But they'd get good returns. I can also see Celtics offer JB + 2 1st round picks

Always nice to see a media darling go down especially in spectacular fashion

Talent wise he's best defensive player in the league. But yeah, can't call him that with how he got dominated. Worse he allowed the coach to let Rui and Lebron defend Jokic instead of manning up and taking the challenge himself.
The title for best player and best defensive player is up for grabs.
If Heat can pull of a title win, Butler will be best player in the league. And Bam the best defensive if he can make it hard for Jokic. I still expect Jokic to put up numbers but Bam I think will put more of a resistance than AD

Those are horrible trade packages and I don't mean for the Lakers

That much?? Wow that seems a boatload for oft injured inconsistent player in AD! But seeing the Highway Robbery Utah pulled on Minny for Goebert, guessing some franchise would probably give up everything for him. Would not do that deal for MIA but that would be a good deal for Boston.

The Lakers suck and if the ball bounces the other way here and there they could’ve won any of these games. They were all very close. I’m feeling real confident in a denver series especially considering their lack of depth and Spo hopefully having over a week to gameplan.

The new cap rules should have teams letting go of star players for a lot less than the hauls of last season

Denver hit insane shots in at least games 1 & 4 of this series that got them
Over the line

I keep picturing his agent hand him a book and say this the one you need to carry around during the playoffs. Here is a print out of the Synopsis incase somebody ask you if you like the book.

It looks unfinished, should of added all of the lakers teams players heads, with coaches, gm, and espn logo as the head of the girl in the end.

Why. Herro has value giving him away for expiring is dumb. We need to clean up the cap but I'm not in favour of giving away assets for nothing cuz some fans don't like him. Herro will get traded but whatever we get back has to help the team and not just be salary relief
Its a terrible contract, along with Ayton and Jordan Poole and i know the Heat front office regrets making the offer. The correct way of handling it, which i said since before we signed him to that deal, would have been to let him become a RFA and have him seek offers, and then match the sheet if the offer was reasonable.
Herro this offseason would have probably received a 4 year deal worth around 90 at most. When you compare him to Brunson, it aint even close.
Even if some weird team offered him the max, if you match the sheet youre in a deal that is one year less than the one we offered. Just dumb accounting by Andy.

Muck around and he’ll have Murray in Hell. Basketball is weird.
He's definitely had some big Nnamdi moments! Had quite a few Gabe ones too though![]()
All in all, he's giving all you could expect from a player like him. Still would be fine to see him leave if an overpay is the other option, but he's been solid. Strus too.
The real standouts have been Caleb and honestly Duncan. HE has had us all, me included, eating all the crap we've talked about him the past 2 seasons lol.
Spo spoke about Duncan's efforts and off-season focus on working on his game, cutting to the basket, driving the past two years during the post game conference I believe Game 2 of the boston game (Friday). He's looked much better, more decisive, not committing bad fouls and giving And 1's to the other team, his stroke looks lethal as always. Happy with him. Caleb is a great contract. Got him so cheap for two more years.
If Strus and Gabe get paid 15-18M a year, arrivederce. sayonara. ciao. tchau. bye. adios. dasvidaniya.
Let's please not make the same Dion Waiters and Tyler Johnson mistakes again. I don't want to see them leave, I don't. But this is Jimmy Butler being him, Spo coaching great, Bam stepping up and we are riding a hot shooting streak. Or is it a correction from a bad regular season? Data below:
Strus career 37% 3 pt shooter in regular season. 35% 2023 regular season. 34.7% career postseason. 37% 2023 playoffs.
Gabe career 34% 3 pt shooter in regular season. 33.4% 2023 regular season. 35% career postseason. 38% 2023 playoffs.
Caleb career 36% 3 pt shooter in regular season. 35.6% 2023 regular season. 37.8% career postseason. 41.5% 2023 playoffs.
Duncan career 40% 3 pt shooter in regular season. 32.8% 2023 regular season. 40.5% career postseason. 44.7% 2023 playoffs.
So they all shot worse this year than their career avg in regular season. They're all shooting better than both their regular season and post season career averages.
Shoutout to Danny Green who I still remember terrorizing us and the league in the playoffs going 48% in 2012-2013, 47.5% 2013-2014 and 50%! 2015-2016.
I'd like to upgrade at PG so I'm fine with Gabe leaving, though he really is balling rn. But I do hope we get to keep Strus. Our wing shooting (Herro, Strus, Duncan) is a key part of our success. Its awesome to see them get back/closer to their shooting averages as well

Saudades.

Maybe AD threw the series the same way Bron did to Wade in 2011
