MettaWorldPanda wrote:Some of you are trying to reinvent Spo’s wheel by putting a non shooting big next to Bam and Butler who consistently need to continue to operate in the mid range. Drafting a backup non stretch Center makes absolutely no sense. Unless we are taking this offense back to the 90’s in the run you out the gym 3 point era.

This graphic is from the previous season, so the order has changed but we still remain at the bottom.

We sacrifice size because we need shooters, cause these guys dont shoot

We overrely on role players to be heaters, because we need the shooting - cause these guys dont shoot

We’re already in a 90s offense being lead by two guys that haven't shown consistently capability from 3. At this point we might as well lean into it. Get what we need, which is size, and force these guys to adapt (extend the range) or die.

How reliable is this? I wouldn't mind Kolek. Looks like they're really looking at either a PG or Center with the 15th.

It's reliable. He's got connections. Probably his boy Haywood might have been working out at arena and saw him lol

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Heat liked Kolek a lot.

Got that Gogi paint attack with a splash of the McConnell’s.

We’ve had good success with Marquette players overall….

I am glad to see the Heat are looking at point guards. It is important build need for the team if you are going to start building around a big or Bam Adebayo. Not only having one piont guard but the Heat needs two keep a min of 2 true point guards. For a long time the Heat have struggle to get the ball across the court with their guards, and made it neccesary for Bam to take on point guard roles. The Heat have lacked point guards for so long, the fan base has forgotten the purpose of a point guard.

I know they talk about how they haven't needed a point guard, and we play pg by committee, but every season we don't have a decent pg our offense is doo doo.

That's a great eye opening tweet.

It emphasizes the importance of things us fans can't really know much about - behind the scenes working habits, hunger, discipline, love of the game, toughness, family background, even likability.

In some cases those factors will dictate the difference between becoming an Allstar or a bust.

Willing to bet they're looking at him for the #43 pick, not at #15.

At that range I wouldn't mind him. He's extraordinarily smart on the court.

I'm not even kidding, If we can end up with Collier at PG, Ware at Center and Holland on the wing - I'd b ok with moving Jimmy for picks and start fresh with a new wave of home grown talent.

Collier
Holland
Jovic
Bam
Ware

Jamie is supersub 6th man, getting starter minutes.

With some luck and a lot of developing this can be a super young contending core in a few years.

https://www.sportskeeda.com/basketball/what-best-isaiah-collier-nba-comparisons-examining-devin-booker-jalen-brunson-juxtapositions

Collier's shooting & overall freshman numbers were very similar to the freshman production of other athletic slashing PG prospects like John Wall, De'Aaron Fox, Dennis Smith Jr (gotta include the cautionary tale), Dejounte Murray. He was def in a less favorable situation than the Kentucky guys.
