Hakeem the dream was a real bruiser on thr court. He got in fights all the time. We only remember the nice stuff but he was dirty too. Hassan isnt perfect. Nothing to be worried about. Thereare a lot of players with tempers. Remember Zo? Never forget. He is learning.

I really do want to push the whole Whiteside> Drummond thing. Whiteside can shoot ft's, has touch, and has developed a jump shot. 2 of those things Drummond will never be able to do, neither will DeAndre Jordan for that matter.

Whiteside's also a much better rim protector.

^Yeah if Hassan continues to progress, that won't be a discussion anymore. The rapid improvement I've seen in Hassan is unlike anything I've seen in a developing player. Drummond is still super young, so who knows....but Hassan is more polished offensively I think and his FT shooting is worlds ahead Drummond and DeAndre.

I prefer to push that *after* we've signed him to a deal.

Drummond main advantages are his age (4 years younger, which is considerable because bigs tend to take time to develop) and being a hard worker/pro.

If Hassan keep his head right like he's been doing the natural talent gap should always be in his favor, because he's simply more talented with the ball. I do expect Andre to become a lot better in the next 3 years, but I doubt he'll ever hit long jumpers or be a 80%FT shooter.

Bigger threats for "best big man" should be Townes (looks like a lock, kid has it all) and even Porzingis (young, high IQ, deadly shooting) and MAYBE Okafor (elite post scoring...but not much else, yet).

Longtime Heat fan, just starting to post her on RealGM, go easy on me.

I love this kid! I think he is the perfect Miami Heat center. He fits right in with the Alonzo's and Shaq's. I think if Hassan keep s growing, and if he plays 10+ years like Centers can do, this guy will own most of the Heat's records. He is the type of Center you can win a Championship with. If we let him walk, I think it will be the biggest mistake we have made.

I would love to see us lock him up long term, lock up JJ and Wade and add 3 point shooting next offseason. I don't even care if we don't get Durant, This guy is a Heat lifer with 10+ years still to go.

So Whiteside is playing great dominating the Bucks then this happens. Would we ever treat Bosh this way? Would we ever treat Wade this way? I bring up Bosh and Wade because they are our max players. Whiteside will be a max player for sure but on what team....
Again the writing has been on the wall for a while, this offseason will be entertaining to say the least. I hope Whiteside decides to stay with us but :dontknow: it is what it is....

And just for fun JJ/Dragic/Deng/Wade all played more mins than Whiteside. :dontknow:

It's so dumb. Let me pull him out of the game to have a lil chat and drill him. They took the cake on sending him home after his flagrant foul. Never seen anything like that.

Amare got t'd up 30 sec into the game an spo didn't even blink.

Double standards, playing favorites, something's never change with spo.

And even with all that bull, still was our leading scorer on like 80% shooting, hit all his free throws, 15 boards was it? And 5 blocks. In limited minutes. Limited by a moron coach.

Was he really dominating the Bucks?

He certainly scored well in the first half but he was been scored on easily too and he seemed to be , how shall I say it, relaxed in his defensive duties. How many dunks and lay-ins did they have?
I remember when the Dolphins were perennial contenders

The same people on here complaining for years about the way we do things. Just FYI, these same posters were here in 2009/2010 saying Riley's 2010 plan was stupid, we need to play Beasley 40 minutes a night and hand the team over to him, we're holding him back, etc.

(note, not saying Hassan = Beasley, hardly, just pointing out the same people have been critical of Spo/Riley and our front office/management for years now)

Anyways, Hassan was mostly awesome against Milwaukee, I do think he slacked a tad on defense but part of the problem was also guys keeping Milwaukee from penetrating, our wings were all getting beat off the dribble way too much.

People wanted prime Wade to hand over the reigns to Beasley? :o

Oh yes, I could find a gold mine of quotes if I went through old threads from back then. Including that Beasley is more "skilled" than Wade and should therefore be the first option on offense, and that Wade is stunting his development.

Every loss of the 2008-2010 seasons:

Did Beasley start? If yes, go to next question, if not, people complaining in game thread and blaming that on the loss.

Did Beasley play at least 35 minutes? If yes, go to next question, if not, people complaining that's why we lost.

Did Beasley get at least 15 shots? If yes, go to next question, if not, people complaining that's why we lost.

Did Beasley get to play every minute of the 4th quarter? If yes, go to next question, if not, people complaining that's why we lost.

If yes to all previous questions, explain that Beasley is young and is improving, and blame Spo messing with the hot hand or drawing up bad plays.

It was pretty miserable tbh, I think after Wade a lot of people just assumed the next time we got a top 5 pick, they had to also be a superstar, and placed all their hopes and expectations for the team on Mike.

Don't forget how much prime Haslem was stagnating Beasley's growth therefore he should've been traded for an up-and-coming young center like Aaron Gray.

White side has a bad game and still puts up numbers like this and breaks records. He will probably continue to be okay with coming off the bench if he can extend his record.

I've been noticing Mavs and Celtics fans joining Laker fans in their drooling over Hassan.

I still think we should have played Beasley more and tried to develop him better. What did the Heat accomplish in those 2 years? First round exits. We were just treading water. Then when it came down to it all we got were 2 2nd round picks for him. In 2004 I was upset that SVG didn't give Wade the ball MORE in the playoffs. He too was not trusted. At least that team actually had talent outside of Wade but still.

I always look at the bigger picture. There are times when you got to chuck the new guys away for a guy like Shaq and win now mode. But you don't do that when you have zero chance of winning. You figure out as much as you can in that time so that you aren't doing that when it counts the most (like when Spo threw Beasley into the Finals for Game 5 after barely even seeing the court during the playoffs....that's insanity imo!)
